Honoring Denver's Veterans
Every life deserves to be celebrated, but the sacrifices our servicemen and women have made for our country are worthy of special distinction. We are honored to help pay tribute to our country’s veterans and to assist their loved ones in securing benefits and planning distinguished military funerals.
Veterans Benefits and Military Honors
All eligible service members qualify for a military funeral, but their families must request military funeral honors first. We can take care of this step for you. All veterans are entitled to:
- The playing of “Taps” by a bugler or high-quality recording
- The folding and presentation of the flag to next of kin
- An honor guard detail consisting of two or more uniformed military persons, at least one being from the U.S. Armed Force in which the deceased served
- If requested, the Military Honors Team may serve as pallbearers
Other honors can include:
- A U.S. burial flag draped over the casket
- A three-volley rifle salute to represent duty, honor, and country
- A final salute at the graveside
