Sydney Hobbs

They say, "life begins on the first day you are born," Sydney Patrick Hobbs was born on March 8, 1960, and that's when his journey began for him. He was the fourth child of seven born to his parents, Howard A. Hobbs and Nettie Louise Davis Hobbs, in Denver, Colorado. He was raised surrounded by his brothers, Timothy, Gregory, David, and his sisters, Cindy and Bridgette. He was educated in the public schools of Denver, Colorado.

On November 14, 1979, Sydney enlisted in the United States Army. While serving his country, he was awarded a Army Service Ribbon, a Overseas Service Ribbon, a Sharpshooter Badge for the M-16 Rifle, and a Sharpshooter Badge for the Hand Grenade. He served with honor and distinction and was honorably discharged.

Sydney met Karen Brinkley in Denver, Colorado in 1995. At the time of his passing, they had been a couple for twenty four years. They both were the proud parents of two daughters, Charity and Sierra. The family shared many happy and precious moments together.

By profession, Sydney was a Truck Driver. He loved his job and enjoyed traveling from coast to coast. He did so for many years.

Sydney was a fun-loving man who enjoyed life and those he encircled. In his free time, he enjoyed watching football, basketball, going fishing, visiting the hills, and spending quality time with family and friends. He will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known this kind and wonderful man who leaves a legacy of love. To know Sydney was to love him.
Sydney Patrick Hobbs departed this life on April 4, 2019, in Thornton, Colorado. Those left to cherish his memory and mourn his loss include his wife, Karen Denise Brinkley-Hobbs of Arvada, Colorado; 2 daughters, Charity A. Sharna and Sierra Griego; his father, Howard A. Hobbs; 3 brothers, Timothy H. Hobbs, Gregory Q. Hobbs, David R. Hobbs, all of Denver, Colorado; 2 sisters, Cindy L. Hopkins of Dallas, Texas and Bridgett D. Hobbs of Denver, Colorado, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
