Richard Sims

December 25, 1982 — March 1, 2014

Richard "Richy Rich" Earl Sims was born to Monica Sims-Guss and Richard E. Tolbert in Denver, Colorado on December 25, 1982. He was considered by his family a miracle baby that was born at home during the massive blizzard of 1982, which left the city paralyzed with up to 23 inches of snow. He was an adorable baby with long eye-lashes and dimples that would melt your heart. Rich accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and was baptized at Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church. He was always inquisitive to the things that pertained to The Kingdom of Heaven. Despite the fact that outside influences tried to persuade him that there was another way that could lead to salvation, Rich still believed that Jesus Christ was the only way, the truth and the life that leads to Eternal Salvation. Rich received his high school diploma through job corps and in addition he received trades in welding, auto mechanics and communications. Rich went on to attend The International Academy of Design and Technology where he was working on obtaining a degree in Audio Production. Rich was a vibrant and determined young man who had a loving personality. His infectious smile would light up a room. Rich loved sports, cars, music, singing, and all the finer things of life. In 2010, he was named president of TOO MUCH ENTERTAINMENT (TME). He worked with some of the music industry's top artists and producers. He worked tenaciously to ensure the company's success. If you knew Rich, you definitely knew his passion for TME! In the midst of Rich's traveling and busy life, his daughter Lalia Jan'Na Sims was his 1st priority. No words can express the love he had for Lalia. Everything he worked for was motivated by his love for her. Rich's immediate family includes the Sims Family, Tolbert Family and the Guss Family. Throughout Rich's life, he fulfilled the principle of Philippians 2:4-5 which reads, "Let this mind be in you that was also in Christ Jesus; that you look not only to your own needs, but also to the needs of others." There were no boundaries for Rich's love and loyalty to his family and friends. Those left to cherish Rich's memory and mourn his loss, include his two year old daughter, Lalia J. Sims & fiancé Juanita Johnson, Seattle, WA; his parents, Monica L. (Pastor Malcolm) Guss, Aurora and Richard E. (Sonya) Tolbert, Denver; his siblings, Melvin S. (Shelly) Guss, OKC, OK, Myesha T. (Troy) Ray, Denver, Jan'Na K. (Maurice) Walker, Denver, Lisa (Reginald) Fisher, Aurora, Michael J. Guss, Denver, Richard E. Tolbert, Aurora and Evangelia D.
