Life’s Journey
Raymond T. Birdsong
To plant a seed in one’s heart…to root it in love…
To nourish it with time spent together…
Yields a blossom that will flourish forever.
Raymond T. Birdsong was born on February 20, 1993, to his parents, Raymond Birdsong and Mildred Winn-Hill. He was the fifth child born in the family. He was raised surrounded by his brother, Tony, and his sisters, Laquita, Rochelle, and Candice. As a child, he enjoyed building, playing sports, and chess. The family remembers him traveling to different states with his father, and working in the barbershop sweeping floors. He was an excellent chess player and pool player and they remember him receiving awards doing so.
He graduated from Anaconda High School in Anaconda, Montana. He furthered his education by attending Lincoln Technical College in Denver, Colorado. He earned certification in Welding. He was also the President of Job Corps. He was an excellent student who received Cum Laude Honors.
On November 1, 2013, Raymond married, the former, Kara T. Robinson in Aurora, Colorado. They first met while shopping at the 7-11 in Aurora. To this union, Mordekai and Noah were born. The family shared many happy and precious moments together whether out and about or just spending leisure time together.
Raymond was a hard-working man, working in Welding, a Carpet Technician, and even as a Firefighter. His most recent employment was with Oxifresh Carpet Cleaning as a Service Technician.
Raymond was a fun-loving man, who enjoyed life and those he encircled. In his free time, he enjoyed cooking, and socializing with family and friends. He was the type of man who never met a stranger and would light up any room he entered. His laugh and smile was contagious. His closest friends, Nijah Teasley, Tarnell Frazier, Detarius Sullivan, Shaquanna Davis, Kyle White, Rebecca Bradshaw, and LaShane Padilla-Scott will miss the many comraderies they all shared together and the fact that he was a true and trusted friend. He will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known this kind and wonderful man. To know Raymond was to love him.
Raymond T. Birdsong departed this life to the embrace of the Lord on August 4, 2022, in Denver, Colorado. Those left to cherish his memory and mourn his loss include his wife, Kara T. Birdsong, 2 sons, Mardekai T. Birdsong, and Noah T. Birdsong; his father, Raymond Birdsong (Sondra Edmonds) all of Denver, Colorado; his mother, Mildred Winn Hill of Aurora, Colorado; 3 sisters, Laquita Golden of Dallas, Texas, Rochelle Birdsong and Candice Birdsong both of Aurora, Colorado; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
