The Journey has begun… Nina Jeanette Jackson began her life on September 10th 1939 in Kansas City Missouri, born to Olden Johnson Sr. and Nina B. Johnson Wright. Nina was educated in the Kansas City School District and graduated from R.T. Cole High School. Nina then met her high school sweetheart Russell Cole Jr. and was united in marriage on September 1st of 1955. In addition to this union, Nina and Russell Cole were blessed with four children. Sherry Cole, Denise Johnson, Laquita Givens, and Victor Cole, and one stepson Stacy Anderson. Mothers Legacy… As beautiful as a rose to see, looking in on her life she carried herself gracefully. Her big heart and the way she loved will live on in each of us. Mother was a happy person, she loved to laugh and joke, and she found pleasure in dancing and singing as well as spending time with her family. Her sincere joy was her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Mother learned early in life to cook. She was always in the kitchen with her own mother and grandmother. This woman could cook like no other; she loved to bake those peach cobblers, sweet potato, and pecan pies. It didn't matter what it was it was all good! Our Mother loved to dress and travel. What she loved most was spending time with her brothers, and sisters. Mama would not miss a chance to get together with all her cousins, nephews and nieces. She was always taking in and raising family. She raised and impacted the life of Michael Ford and participated in raising Patricia Johnson. This lady was a superwoman. Later in life she went on and married Taylor W. Jackson on August 8th 1984. She began a new journey and became employed at Valley View Hospital, and it was here that she would also retire. Faith In The Lord Nina was a woman of faith and strongly believed in the Lord. She was a member of Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church. She will be greatly missed by all, and forever in our hearts. Those who were fortunate enough to be touched by this kind and wonderful woman knows that she has left a great legacy of love, joy, and happiness and she will never be forgotten.
