Mary Love

April 15, 1944 — August 13, 2014

Mary Eleanor Love was born on April 15, 1944, in Atlanta, Georgia, to her parents, Moses Jarrell and Alice Allen Jarrell. She was the first of two children born in the family. She was raised surrounded by her sister, Delores. She received her early education in Kansas City, Missouri, where she graduated from Central High School. She furthered her education by attending Penn Valley Community College in Kansas City and Metro State College in Denver, Colorado, Mary was the proud mother of five beautiful children, Darrell, Bobby, Calvin, Harry and Belinda. They remember her as a loving, kind, nurturing and mother, whose pride and joy was the care and protection of her family. She later met Robin D. Travis in Denver, Colorado. They shared a relationship filled with joy and happiness. With this union, Mary became the step mother of Terrell and Sandra. She was later blessed with ten grandchildren, Candi, Dwayne, Greg, Tierra, Chelsea, Kalandra, Ayreil, Donte, Nyesha, Chris and six great grandchildren, who all were an additional source of joy and pride in her life. They lovingly called her "grandma" and fondly remember all the happy and precious moments they spent together. By profession, Mary was employed in the Accounting Field for a number of years. She was respected for her ability and how she interacted with her fellow co-workers. She performed her duties with precision and accuracy. Mary was a member of several civic and fraternal organizations to include Mountain Temple #174 IBPOE of W, Heart of the Rockies Council, the Middle Western States Association Auxiliary and the Department of Antlered Guard. She truly enjoyed the fellowship shared with her brothers and sisters and what each organization did to be a blessing in the lives of others. She has served the organizations as Vice Daughter Ruler; she was a Gatekeeper, Chairman of the Trustees and Financial Secretary. She had been a member for over 15 years. Mary was a fun loving woman, who enjoyed life and those she encircled. In her free time, she enjoyed her visits to the "Hills", playing card games and spending quality time with family and friends. Her closest friends, Brenda, James, William, and Louise will miss the comraderies they all shared together and the fact that she was a true and trusted friend. She will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known this kind and wonderful woman who leaves a void that can never be filled. To know Mary was to love her. The family wishes to extend prayers for a speedy recovery to Marilynn Curry and family during this most difficult time. We all know and believe that God will give peace that surpasses all human understanding. Mary Eleanor Love departed this life on August 13, 2014, in Jefferson County, Colorado.
