Lois Wilridge was born in Galveston Texas, May 12, 1923 to her parents Cora M. and Walter W. Briggs. She was raised in Beaumont Texas with her sibling's, sister Marjorie and twin brothers James and Julian Briggs. She attended public schools in Beaumont and graduated from Charlton-Pollard High School in 1942. In 1943 Lois moved to Denver, Co along with her mother and daughter Patricia Ann. Later she married Madison H. Foster and to this union a daughter Nadine Lizette Foster was born. Lois trained at Duncan's Beauty College and received her license in cosmetology. Lois was a licensed practical nurse. Later she received her Certification from the State of Colorado as a Retardation Technician at the Ridge State Home and Training School for Retardation. Lois worked as a housekeeper for a family for 17 years; at several Hospital and Nursing homes throughout the Denver area; Denver Public Schools Food Service and Senior's Inc. Lois lived in several states including Arizona, Illinois, California and Texas. She made many friends in the many places she lived and worked. While in California she was reunited with her high school sweetheart Ora B. Wilridge and they married and lived in Compton, California until they moved back to Denver, Co to help her sister care for their aging mother. Lois served as Vice President of the Usher Board at Scott's Methodist Church in Denver, usher at New Hope Baptist Church in Denver, Deaconess at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Denver and on the Hospitality Ministry at Old Landmark Ministries in Aurora. Lois was a member of the Gay Duchess, The Twelve Orchids, The Fleur De Luis and The Bronco's Supporters social clubs. She loved to cook and fed everybody and every living creature that came into her path! She often times told her grandchildren when they wanted some fast food, "I can make that" and take them home and come as close to it as she possibly could. She was always entertaining in her home and it was always filled with family, friends and an occasional stranger or two. She loved the Blues and Gospel music. She loved to dance and did so even when she was cleaning house. She loved growing and going to the country to get fresh vegetables to cook. Lois loved life and lived it to the fullest! It is a fact that no grass grew under her feet Lois was preceded in death by her Parents, husband, brothers and great-granddaughter. She was also preceded in death by two half brothers, and a half sister. Lois is survived by her daughter's Patricia Martins and Nadine Foster; sister Marjorie (George) Morrison Jr.; grandchildren Andre, Sammie Jr., Joi Michelle (Ray) Carr, Odole' Lana, Devonne and Milow (Crystal) Davis; great-grand children Deneyvious (Cindy), Shaquaea, Sasha, Kwanita, Joshua, Julian, Shidique, Jalene, Jalon, Rashawd, Sadarious and Sadie; step-great-grandchildren Montez, Marquez, Christopher (Bayanni) and Kenya: great-great-grandchildren Destiny, KeVaughn, Domonick and step-great-great-grandchild C.J.; nieces Vicki Morrison-Sloan and Trudi (Ronnie) Davis; great-niece Simone (Ryan) Ross; great-nephew Logan; great- great nephew Gavin and many cousins and friends.
