Precious Memories

Mother Laura Jean Mosley

As beautiful as a rose to see, was her life she lived so gracefully.  She made things precious by her touch; her selfless love lives on in each of us.  The petals of her life fell one by one; each a gift of her heart till there were none.  Yet her radiance blooms once again in fields of glory with no end.

Mother Laura Jean Mosley was born on May 8, 1945, in Decatur, Alabama to her parents, Mattie L. Gill Collier and Buster Collier.  She was the first born in the family.  She was raised surrounded by brother, Clifford and her sister, LaSaundra.  She received her formal education by graduating from High School in Decatur, Alabama in 1963.  She is remembered as being the Prom Queen and a Cheerleader.

On June 23, 1989, Laura married, Michael L. Mosley in Denver, Colorado.  She was the proud mother of Maurice, Melvin, LaShawn, and Vanessa.  She was also blessed to have a step-son, Michael.  She was a loving and devoted wife and mother, who took great pride in the care and nurture of her family.  She was later blessed with seven grandchildren, Robert, LaDrea, Jawaun, Tasharina, Toniosha, Nacresha, and Maurice, Jr., who all were additional source of joy and pride in her life.  They lovingly called her “granny” and fondly remember all her hugs and kisses and how she shared her life stories with them.

By profession, Laura was employed as a CNA, a Restaurant Business Owner, and a Manager for a Movie Theater.  She was hardworking, dedicated, and performed her duties with a spirit of excellence.  She was a caring person and always had a smile for everyone.

Laura was a fun-loving woman, who enjoyed life and those she encircled.  In her free time, she enjoyed watching western movies, cooking for her family, and spending quality time with family and friends.  She will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known this kind and wonderful woman.  To know Mother Laura was to love her.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Michael Mosley; 2 children, Melvin E. McFalls, and LaShawn R. McFalls; her parents, Buster and Mattie Collier; and her brother, Clifford W. Jones.

Laura Jean Mosley departed this life to the embrace of the Lord on September 1, 2022, in Aurora, Colorado.  Those left to cherish her memory and mourn her loss include her son, Elder Maurice M. (Catha) McFalls; her daughter, Vanessa N. McFalls; her sister, LaSaundra K. (Robert) Newton; 7 grandchildren, Robert McFalls, LaDrea McFalls, Jawaun McFalls Price, Tasharina McFalls, Toniosha McFalls, Nacresha McFalls, and Maurice McFalls, Jr.; 6 great grandchildren.
