Jerry Williams

September 14, 1931 — October 12, 2013

Jerry was born on September 14, 1931 in Holly Grove, Arkansas to his parents Jerry Williams, Sr. and Lillie B. Isby Williams. He was raised with his sister, Melvia. He attended elementary school in the Holly Grove School District until eighth grade. On April 14, 1955, Jerry wed Benolia Young. To this union Willie, Barnett, Alice, Jessie Betty, and James were born. This marriage was later dissolved. All the children remember their father's laugh, and his humorous personality. Jerry was later blessed to have 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren who were an additional source of joy and pride in his life. They fondly remember all the happy memorable moments they all shared together. By profession, Jerry was employed by the Denver Petroleum Club. His co-workers remember him as being a hard worker, dedicated and a person who worked well with others. He was a man who led by example. He would never ask anyone to perform a task that he would not first do himself. In the 35 years he worked for the company, Jerry was awarded several "Employee of the Month" certificates because of his ability to organize and keep food well stocked in the kitchen, which feed over twelve thousand meals each month. Jerry was a fun loving man, who enjoyed life and those he encircled. In his free time, he enjoyed watching his favorite television programs and spending quality time with his family. He will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known this kind and wonderful man, who had a joyful personality, extremely giving, and had a "Cool Swagger." To know Jerry was to love him. Jerry was preceded in death by his son, James Edward Williams; his parents, Jerry and Lillie Williams and his former wife, Benolia Whisenton. Jerry Williams, Jr. departed this life on October 12, 2013, in Littleton, Colorado. Those left to cherish his memory and mourn his loss include two sons, Willie Williams, Barnett Williams; three daughters, Alice (Anthony) Darden, Jessie Williams, Betty Williams; one sister, Melvia Stewart, Holly Grove, AR; 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, a host of cousins, other relatives, and many friends.
