Isaphena Seals

July 24, 1917 — December 27, 2013

Isaphena Seals was born on July 24, 1917, in Wisner, Louisiana to her parents, Titus Butcher and Angel Owens Butcher. She was the third child of twenty children born in the family. She was blessed and surrounded by her nine brothers, Webster, Russell, Charles, Harold, Louis, John, Lynn Titus Jr., and Lawrence and ten sisters, Stazzie, Alice, Juanita, Maggie, Gladys, Clarice, Berteal, Authoree, Geraldine and Arletha. She spent many beautiful days loving the Lord and spending time with her brothers, sisters and family. After graduating from Winnsboro High School, she moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1938. She lived with her grandmother, Julia Shaw and worked as a Seamstress. In 1942, she relocated to Denver, Colorado. There she met, Charles E. Seals II, shortly after, they were married in 1949. To this union, five children, Charles E. III, Susan, Arthur, Jeannie and Sherri were born. She was the sweetest, kindest, most loving mother in the world. She was a dedicated mother, who always went out of her way to make sure her children had what they needed. She was also a GOD fearing woman. She was our best friend and the love of our lives. Isaphena graduated from Metropolitan State College of Denver in 1974, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Early Childhood Education. She completed her teaching credentials and worked on her Master of Arts Degree at the University of Northern Colorado. She enjoyed many years as an Educator in the Denver Public Schools system and the Morgan Center. She continued her love for children and education by providing childcare in her home. Isaphena's passions were GOD, the Bible, her children, brothers and sisters. She loved GOD all the days of her life. She also had a love for trees, birds, dogs and all living things. She felt they all belonged to GOD. As a spiritual woman, every conversation included GOD and Jesus. She loved to pray and read her Bible, praise the Lord and thank him for each day. She was a faithful child of GOD who prayed to the Lord until her last breath. She was a loving and dedicated mother, and a dedicated friend. "Mama loved you even if she didn't know you." Her beautiful smile and kind heart touched many and made a lasting impression of LOVE. Isaphena B. Seals departed this life to be with Jesus on December 27, 2013. Those left with beautiful memories of her love include her children, Charles E. Seals III, Denver, Susan Senior, Westchester, CA, Arthur "Dinky" Dwayne Seals, Denver, Jeannie Seals – Thomas, Denver and Sherri Seals, Denver; her grandchildren, James Carl Williams, Justin Keith Williams, Lorraine Seals-Williams, Eric Seals – Williams, Mia Jonell Thomas, and Monique A. Seals, all of Denver; her great grandchildren, Nevaeh McKenzie Young, Talia Williams, Anaya Williams and Jaida Williams all of Denver; one brother, Lawrence Butcher of Denver; six sisters, Gladys Kemp, Denver, Authoree Wilson, Toledo OH, Berteal Green, Baltimore, MD, Clarise Lee, Englewood, CO. Geraldine Spears, Slidell, LA and Arletha Butcher of Denver and a host nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
