Earl Lee Vaughn, Jr. was born on January 10, 1936, in Mobile, Alabama to his parents, Earl Lee Vaughn, Sr. and Sarah Marie Hall Vaughn. He was the second child born in the family. He was raised surrounded by his brothers, Rudy, James, Labaron and his sisters, Karrie and Patricia. While growing up, he did odd jobs to help his mother support the family. He is also remembered as helping one of the children in neighborhood along the way. Earl received his early education in Mobile, where he attended the local public school system. He united in holy matrimony to the former Thelma L. Jones. They first met in Denver, Colorado. To this union, two boys, Byron, Bryant and a girl Constance were born. Thelma preceded him in death. He was also the father of Terry, Donald, Michael, Unethia M., Ameena, and Unethia Earl was later blessed to have 18 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren who were an additional source of joy and pride in his life. They lovingly called him "PaPa." They fondly remember him as always making himself available to them and that he loved them unconditionally. By profession, Earl was employed in iron, welding, and landscaping. He was a member of the Iron Worker Local #24. He was hardworking, dependable and performed all his duties with a spirit of excellence. A man of faith and belief in the Lord, Earl often spoke of the goodness of the Lord and how much he believed in His word. He passed this on to all his family and friends. He enjoyed riding downtown with his children to show them, how he helped build the city. He also enjoyed purchasing hats from many place across this country. Earl was a fun loving man who enjoyed life and those he encircled. In his free time, he enjoyed gardening and welding. He was a sharp dresser and is remembered as having a strong personality. He will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known this one of kind guy. To know Earl was to love him. Earl Lee Vaughn, Jr. departed this life on January 4, 2014, in Denver, Colorado. Those left to cherish his memory and mourn his loss include his children, Bryant S. Vaughn, Constance Michelle Vaughn, Unethia M. Carter-Vaughn, Ameena C. Vaughn and Michael Vaughn, Byron E. Vaughn, Terry Vaughn, Donald Vaughn, Unethia Vaughn; 2 brothers, Rudy Vaughn, North Carolina, Laboran Vaughn, Westfield, New Jersey; 2 sisters, Karrie Vaughn and Patricia Vaughn both Westfield, New Jersey; 18 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and many friends.
