The pages of this book began for Clifford Harris, III when he was born on April 20, 1957, in Birmingham, Alabama to his parents, Mary Bird and Clifford Harris, Jr. He was raised by his step father, Echo Norwood. He was raised surrounded by his brother, Echo and his sister, Dawn. As a child, he enjoyed going to school and he loved playing sports. He and his mother, shared a special closeness and he was often called a "mama's boy." Clifford received his formal education in Canton, Ohio where he attended the McKinley High School. On September 21, 1990, he united in holy matrimony to the former, Sonia M. Chandiere. They first met at the Valley Manor Nursing Home. They exchanged vows in Denver, Colorado. Sonia fondly remembers their marriage as beautiful and full of love. To this union, Tanisha, Premise and Harvey were born. He was also the proud father of Justin, Martez, Consuelo and Demetrius. They remember him teaching them to box, watching sports, listening to music and enjoying each other's company. He was later blessed with nineteen grandchildren who affectionately called him "PoPo or Grandpa." They shared many happy and precious moments together. Clifford was employed by the McDonald's Franchise working at Denver International Airport. He was hard working, dependable and worked well with his fellow co-workers and offered "service with a smile" to his patrons. Clifford was a fun loving man who enjoyed those he encircled. In his free time, he continued to enjoy listening to music and watching movies. His closest friends, Tyrone Brooks, Mark Parker, Lorraine Daniels, Julia Niles, Auntie Janice Ware, Debra Chandiere and Sylvia Chandiere will miss the camaraderie uniquely shared by Clifford and Sonia. The friendship was immeasurable and never ending. He also shared a special closeness with his nephew, Kenneth Lloyd. He will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known this kind and wonderful man. To know Clifford was to love him.
