Yvonne Carol Lee was born on July 20, 1959 in Monroe, Louisiana to Jim and Odessa Lee. She was the second out of five children. She was surrounded by her siblings Violet Spearman, Karen K. Cloud, Monica Lynn Lee and Ricky Shannon Lee. As a child, Carol had a very sensitive heart and loved to play kick ball with her peers. She was very athletic and would always win the events during field day in elementary school. Siblings and cousins recall that Carol loved to draw flowers and would always give the drawings to her mother, Odessa Lee. Carol received her formal education in Denver, Colorado as she attended Columbine Elementary, Cole Junior High and Kennedy High School. During these years, Carol accomplished and maintained many friendships along the way and was known for always being there for every one of her friends. Carol was a proud mother of one son, Travis Odell Lee and one daughter, Angela DeBoise Lee. Together, they shared many happy moments, as Carol was the best mother any child could want. Travis and Angela remember not only a great mother, but also a friend who they could turn to and knew Carol would always answer the call. Angela recalls that although the love was unconditional, R. Kelly, Keith Sweat and Montel Jordan came with the territory, as it was a must that you had to listen to one, if not all them after or during conversation. Later Carol was blessed with six grandchildren, and one great grandchild. Carol was definitely a devoted grandmother and will be forever be a legacy to her grandchildren. Carol's professional and work life was limited due to her disability but she was able to maintain employment in the earlier years of her life. Make no mistake about it; although Carol was not formally employed, she wore many different hats as a daughter, mother, sister and companion. She was definitely a "Jack of All Trades." She was preceded in death by her mother, Odessa Lee; her sister, Karen K. Cloud, and her grandson, Emarree Shug Harvey. Yvonne Carol Lee departed this life to the embrace of the Lord on July 17, 2015, in Denver, Colorado. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Angela D. Lee; her son, Travis O. Lee; her father, Jim Lee; grandchildren, Kianua Lee, Dashae Armstrong, Gailen Armstrong, Milo Hall, Capri Mason-Lee, Daishae Lee Marquevious Lee; one great granddaughter, Da'zjae Thompson; her siblings, Violet Spearman, Monica Lee and Ricky Lee all of Denver, Colorado; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and so many more relatives and friends.
