Yvette Sanders

January 22, 1959 — December 19, 2018

Yvette Marie Christian was the firstborn of Charles D. Christian and Barbara A. Tellington on January 22, 1959, in Everett, Washington. She was raised in Denver, Colorado with her brothers, Nathaniel and Michael. As a child, she enjoyed arts/crafts, playing softball, bowling, modeling, and dancing which led her to a Soul Train Competition where she won, going on to compete in California.

Receiving her early education in Denver, Colorado where she graduated at the top of her class as Valedictorian from George Washington High School. Later furthering her education at the Community College of Denver where she received her degree in Early Childhood Education.

While growing up on Elm Street she met Joseph Henry Sanders. They later exchanged vows at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church on November 24, 1984. To this union, brought their son Jared. This marriage was later dissolved. She later met Anthony 'AC' Carter at Pierre's Supper Club over a plate of catfish. To this union, Isaiah, Keeondra, and Uriah were born. Her children will always remember her for her beauty, intellect, independence, and the unconditional love she showed each and every one of them

Yvette was later blessed with two grandchildren, Jaidyn and Kemet, who both were an additional source of joy and pride in her life. They lovingly called her "grandma or gaga" and fondly remember the trips to KFC or Popeye's after church on Sunday.

By profession, Yvette was employed by Mountain Bell as an Executive Assistant while employed there she was appreciated for her hard work and kind spirit. Later, starting her journey of entrepreneurship she created multiple streams of revenue. After retiring, she went back to work as a receptionist at Winning Coiffeurs alongside her longtime friend and stylist, Rosalyn Redwine.

A woman of faith and belief in the Lord, Yvette enjoyed the worship service alongside her mother at Cure D' Ars Catholic Church. She later worshipped at Zion Temple Church in Denver, Colorado. She truly enjoyed the fellowship shared with her church family.

Yvette was a fun-loving woman, who enjoyed life and those she encircled. In her free time, she enjoyed braiding hair, cooking, shopping, and doing arts and crafts. Her longtime friends, Arlene Houston Holland, Patricia Clark-Harris, Felicia Ford, Tonya Acker, Maechele Long, Donna Redd, and Renee Brown will miss the camaraderie's they all shared together and the fact that she was a true and trusted friend. They will also miss how sweet, loving, loyal, and how supportive she was. She will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known this Queen of Woman. To know Yvette was to love her.

Yvette Marie Sanders departed this life to the embrace of the Lord on December 19, 2018, in Denver, Colorado. Those left to cherish her memory and mourn her loss include; 3 sons, Jared N. Sanders, Isaiah C. Carter, and Uriah Carter all of Denver, Colorado; 1 daughter, Keeondra S. Carter of Dallas, Texas; her mother, Barbara A. Christian of Denver, Colorado; 2 brothers, Nathaniel D. (Mignon) Christian and Michael A. Christian all of Dallas, Texas; 2 grandchildren, Jaidyn D. Sanders and Kemet A Carter both of Denver, Colorado; her devoted and loving companion, Gregory Bunting of Denver, Colorado; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends.
