Yueh Yu Lee was born on July 27, 1941 in Wanlaun Village located in Ping Tung, Taiwan. She was the youngest of five children born to Mr. Ki Shang Lee and Mrs. Chin Zu Gan. Lee met Melvin Larkins in Taipei, Taiwan, married him. They have been married for 52 years. From their union, four children were born. Lee and Melvin moved around the world while he was a member of the United States Air Force and then settled in Denver, CO in 1975. Lee loved to travel. Every few years she made sure to visit her mother and siblings in Taiwan. She travelled to many places around the world including Hawaii, Spain, France, Italy, Holland, Argentina, Portugal, and Uruguay. She enjoyed all the different foods and culture that each place had to offer. Thanks to the Travel Channel she always knew she was an airplane away from the next travel adventure to a new country. Lee enjoyed spending time with family. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandma and friend. She touched the lives of everyone she met. If you sang, she would sing with you. If you needed her, she would be there for you. If you were hungry, she would feed you. If you needed to talk, she would listen. If you needed a ride, she would take you. If you cried, she would wipe your tears away. To the family she was "Apo'. Her inspiration were her grandchildren, who loved her unconditionally. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She always made sure her children and grandchildren were well taken-care-of. Yueh Yu Lee Larkins passed away Monday, July 30, 2012.
