Yolanda Renee (Nay) Pope, daughter of the late James Scott and Elizabeth Pope was born on September 13, 1958 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
To family and friends Yolanda was affectionately called “Renee” “Nay” or “Auntie Nay-Nay.” She was a joy to be around. Nay’s exuberance for life shone everywhere she went. She spent her early years in Milwaukee, WI and graduated from West Division High School and worked at JC Penney's. She later relocated to Denver, Colorado 1980 and started her career at Oppenheimer working her way up to management before being laid-off. Of course, she picked herself up and started a new career as a bartender working at both Marions and ending at Scoreboard. She enjoyed watching the Denver Scoreboard softball teams for years. She also enjoyed watching the Broncos.
On Sunday morning October 25, 2020, God felt the need to have another great soldier so he picked Yolanda to be that great warrior. She was preceded in death by her three brothers Cliff Sr, Robert and William Pope, Sr. and her nephew William (L’il Will) Pope, Jr.
Though her smile is gone, the melody of her laughter will linger forever in our hearts. The never ending thoughts of her legacy will be shared by her loving and devoted living siblings – Lawrence (Larry) (Devoria “Dee”) Pope, Sr. of Milwaukee, WI; Michael (Mecko) (Duronda) Pope, Sr. of Broomfield, CO; Vanessa (Ken Wingo) Few of Colorado Springs, CO; and Valerie (Robert) Bell of Aurora, CO; Special Sister Friend, Edith Sledge of Milwaukee, WI; and three sisters-in-law Glendale Pope of Atlanta, GA; Sharon Pope of Milwaukee, WI and Debra Kern of Phoenix, AZ.
