April 30, 1946 — June 26, 2013

Willie James Galloway was born on April 30, 1946, in Jackson, Tennessee to his parents, Arthur James Galloway and Mamie Elizabeth Hunt Galloway. He was the only child born in the family. "Jim" as he was affectionately called by family and friends spent most of childhood with his grandparents, John and Carrie Galloway. Growing up, he loved to fish with his favorite Uncle James and two of his cousins, Eula and Ree. His Uncle James taught him how to shoot dice; that's where he developed a love for money which invariably gave him the foundation to become an entrepreneur later in his life. Jim received his early education in Jackson alongside many of his cousins whom he shared a special closeness. He graduated from high school in 1964. Shortly after graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He was able to see different parts of the United States while being stationed in South Dakota. He served with honor and distinction and was honorably discharged. Jim was blessed to be the father of nine beautiful children, Colette, Alexius, Sonja, Antionette, Jare', Steven, Devola, James, Jr. and Stephni. He loved his children dearly and enjoyed all the happy and precious moments they all shared together. In 1968, Jim relocated to Denver, Colorado. Later he was blessed with twenty four grandchildren and one great grandchild who were an additional source of joy and pride in his life. Being an only child, Jim adopted 4 little brothers when he moved to Denver, Kenneth, Steven, Dennis and Frank Williams. He loved the time they shared together. In 1969, he started his entrepreneurial quest. He became owner and operator of a gas station and mechanic shop. In 1972, he became employed by Coors Brewery. He remained there for eight years. Still searching for the right career, he started working for Franchise Liquors and Distributions, selling to local stores, night clubs and restaurants. Jim then switched gears and enrolled in real estate school. He did this while still employed with the distribution franchise. Once completing the course and earning his Real Estate License. He sold real estate part time. In 1984, he opened his first company that was called "Colorado Classic Properties." Jim now found the career that he loved and he was very happy. In 1987, he opened an office with Metro Brokers in Denver and remained there until 2010, when his health began to decline. Jim was a fun loving man who enjoyed life and those he encircled. In his free time, he enjoyed spending quality time with his children, other family and friends. He was a man who never met a stranger and didn't mind lending a helping hand to others. He had a jovial personality and enjoyed telling jokes. He was blessed with the "gift of Gab" and had the innate ability to make others feel comfortable and welcomed in his presence. He will be best remembered for being ambitious and a "go getter in the Real Estate World." He will be missed by all were fortunate enough to have known this one of kind guy, who leaves a legacy of love, laughter and precious memories. To know Jim was to love him. Jim is preceded in death by a daughter, Sonya Galloway, who died in infancy and his father, Arthur James Galloway. Even in death, he wanted to help others.
