Willie James Brown, Jr. “affectionately known as Jimmy” was born in Oakwood Village, Ohio. He was the third child born to Willie James Brown, Sr. and Annie Belle Parks Brown on August 11, 1960. He had one brother, Jesse Sr., and two sisters, Shirley and Gwendolyn. In September of 1967, his parents relocated to Denver, Colorado, where he attended elementary, middle, and high school. He graduated from George Washington High School. As a child and young adult, he enjoyed all types of sports football, basketball, and baseball. He received trophies from PAL Knights little league.

Wille met, Juanita Davenport at a bowling alley, they were married on September 9, 2000 at Epworth United Methodist Church in Denver, Colorado. With this union, he was blessed with two wonderful step-children: Rena and Lammar. He was later blessed with two grandchildren, Lammar, Jr. and Vega.

Willie worked a Yellow Cab as a Service Technician and move onto Securitas as a Security Guard.

Wherever employed, he was hard-working, dedicated and performed his duties with a spirit of excellence.

In his free time, he enjoyed watching and rooting on his favorite football team The Oakland Raiders, now known as the Las Vegas Raiders. (if you wanted to know anything about the players, he was the one to ask)  He loved playing dominoes, bowling, watching tennis and fast pitch softball. He played softball for PNS Lounge and Coors Extra Gold. He was also a member of TNBA bowling club from 1990-2008.  His best friends, were Rodney Busby “Rocky” and Nathaniel Miller “Nate.” He will be remembered by his friends for bowling 300’s.  To know Willie was to love him.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Annie Belle Brown: father, Willie James Brown, Sr.,: sister, Shirley McKenzie: and brother, Jesse Lee Brown, Sr.

Willie James Brown, Jr. departed this life to the embrace of the Lord on Friday, June 25, 2021, in Denver, Colorado.  Those left to cherish his memory and mourn his loss include his sister, Gwendolyn R. (Arthur) Smith of Denver, Colorado; his former wives, Juanita D. Davenport of Denver, Colorado and Georgia Brown, 2 step-children, Lamar J. Davenport of Denver, Colorado and Rena N. Brown of Atlanta, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
