Wanda Louise Thompson was born December 18, 1955, in Denver Colorado to the late Jasper Lee Sr. and Lou Ethel Thurman. She was the oldest of seven children. In her younger years, she loved to spend time with her aunts, uncles, and cousins. She attended Mitchell Elementary, Cole Middle School, and Manuel High School. Shortly after Wanda attended Emily Griffin where she took up sewing and learning how to repair electronics. Wanda was also known as the feisty one but she was also very sweet if you needed anything she did not hesitate to give it if she had it. In her late teens, Wanda met her first love Leonard Thompson and they became one in holy matrimony April 3rd, 1991. In this union, they shared three children. The family would attend many family reunions as well as enjoy many state attractions such as theme parks, national parks, and other local attractions. After the passing of her husband later in life. she met Michael Ramos. They enjoyed traveling, going out to eat and going to the movies. Wanda was a devoted worker for Montclair Manor, Curtis Burns/Lowry’s Beef Snacks, Fitzsimmons Army Base, and Samsonite which she retired from with 12 years of service. In her spare time, Wanda enjoyed watching her favorite tv shows “The Walking Dead” and “Charmed”. In addition, she loved doing word search puzzles and watching football on Sundays, her favorite team was the Oakland Raiders. She loved to cook for her family and on your birthday, you could expect your favorite cake from her. Wanda is also known for her famous chicken enchiladas and special secret chocolate candy which she always been known to make for the holidays. Wanda Louise Thompson departed this life October 9, 2018. She is proceeded in death by her husband Leonard Thompson, and her parents Jasper Lee Sr. and Lou Ethel Thurman. She leaves to cherish her memory her lifetime partner Michael Ramos; two daughters, Chanee Cummings, and Kimberly (Ibn Hashim) Mickens all of Denver CO. One son Gregory Thompson of Denver CO. Her granddaughter Candace Murray of Denver CO. Four sisters Carolyne (Odis Jr.) Woods, Annette Thurman, Denise (Craig) Hysaw, and Dorothy Thurman all of Denver CO. Two brothers Gene Thurman and Jasper Lee Thurman Jr. all of Denver CO. A host aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
