Wanda Fay Canada was born on October 3, 1951 in Waco, Texas to her loving parents, Willie Jack Banks and Lythel Henry-Banks. Wanda was the fifth of five children born to this union. She was raised surrounded by her brothers, Wilbert, Jahue, and Clyde and her sister, Corine. Her siblings remember her joyful and loving personality. In her youth, Wanda's family moved to Kansas City, Missouri where she completed her formal education at Central High School. Shortly after high school, Wanda met Reginald Dale Canada, Sr. These two were inseparable as they begin to plan their lives together. On May 7, 1974, Wanda and Reginald were married in Denver, Colorado. Wanda was the proud mother of Reginald, Jr., Eric, and Wendell. They shared so many memorable moments together. The children remember their mother as a loving, caring, yet strict parent, who made sure that her children received the best education possible. She made sure her son's know how to cook. Later, Wanda was blessed with eight grandchildren, Jamound, Cherish, Devionte, Tyla, Ty Q, Roderick, Arianna, and Israel. She loved to have her grandchildren all together because they were an added source of love and joy. By profession, Wanda was a Certified Nursing Assistant, CNA, for the Cherry Creek Nursing Home in Aurora. Her co-workers would say she was dedicated and committed to the call of duty. She always operated in the spirit of excellence. Wanda was a faithful member of 15 years to the Zion Temple Pentecostal Church in Denver, Colorado. Her service to the Lord did not go unnoticed as she loved the Lord with all of her heart, soul, mind, and strength. Wanda loved to cook, and throw barbecue's with her entire family and friends. She had good friends such as Mr. and Mrs. Palmer, Molly Palmer, Marilyn Grey, Bobbie Little, Iris, Patsy, Renee, and Lonnie Dean and they all lived in the Greater Park Hill area. Her dearest friends will always remember the special times they shared together and they will miss her greatly. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Lythel Banks; her siblings, Wilbert Wiseman, Corine Pettit, Jahue Wiseman, and aunt and uncle, Jessie Mae and Elijah Anderson. Wanda Fay Canada departed this life on May 26, 2016, in Loveland, Colorado. She leaves to cherish her memory and to mourn her loss her sons, Reginald Canada, Jr., Wendell Banks, Eric Canada; her brother, Clyde Banks, Kansas City, MO; her eight grandchildren; her great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, other relatives, and many friends.
