Walter Greer

December 25, 1950 — January 30, 2015

Walter Ralph Greer was born in Center, Texas on Christmas day, December 25, 1950, to his parents, Walter C. Greer, and Shirley Mae Marshal Greer. Walter was raised surrounded by his sisters, Ina and Wanda. While in school, he played the clarinet. Walter accepted Christ at an early age and loved the Lord with all of his heart. Walter obtained his formal education in the Denver Public Schools, graduating from Denver East High School in 1968. He was an exceptional father to his sons, Nick, and Nathan; they had a bond that could not be broken. While traveling in Chicago, Walter met the love of his life, Regina Williams. They would exchange vows on February 18, 1984, and the two became one. This blended family would now consist of Walter's two sons, and Regina's three daughters, LaDaria, Leona, and LaWanda. The family would become inseparable, spending quality time together, and loving each other. Walter worked a number of jobs until finally settling down to work for Premier Copier. He was skilled with computers and enjoyed helping maintain office systems. He retired from Premier Copier in 2014. His co-workers would describe Walter as dedicated and knowledgeable. Walter was a simple but wise man. He was a good entertainer who liked to sing. He always wanted to open a restaurant/supper club called "LaRue's". He loved having fun with friends and family, and he was an excellent cook. Walter was known by his family as the "brisket man" because of his skill at the bar-b-que grill. He loved working on model planes and cars, and riding his motorcycle. Walter is preceded in death by his father, Walter C. Greer; his uncle, Booker Greer; and his aunt, Massie Lee Dix. On January 30, 2015, Walter Ralph Greer went home to meet the Lord. He is survived by his wife of thirty years, Regina Greer; two sons, Nick (Dolores) Greer and Nathan Greer; three stepdaughters, LaDaria Smith , Leona (Marcus) Lofton , and LeWanda Ward; his mother, Shirley Greer; twin sisters, Ina (Dwight) Dorman, and Wanda Beauman; ten grandchildren and one great grandson; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends.
