Vida Doreen Whitaker-Scott was born on September 7, 1967, in Denver, Colorado to her parents, Robert Whitaker, Jr., and Patricia Gayles-Whitaker. She was the second child born to this union. She was raised surrounded by her seven siblings, Robert, III, Stacy, Jackie, Marcus, Alma, Ella, and Rita. As a child, her siblings remember her making dresses for her dolls, and mud pies. Vida attended George Washington High School in Denver, and continued her studies in Business at the Arapahoe Community College. As an astute student, Vida was dedicated to her education. Vida began her adult journey as the proud mother of Kenyatta, TC, Jamaur, and Angel. She met Jerry Williams and they were married in 1999 in Aurora, Colorado, to this union, Jaylen was born. The family would enjoy many precious moment together. To Vida, her children were her most precious gift. In 2003, the marriage was dissolved. Later, Vida met Michael Scott and they would find comfort and support in each other. On April 1, 2009, Vida and Michael would exchange vows of holy matrimony. To this union, Brooklyn was born. The children remember their mother making them go the Kingdom Hall every Sunday. They also remember all of the love their mother shared with each of them. She was later blessed with seven grandchildren, whom she adored. Vida was a faithful member of the Kingdom Hall for 16 years. Committed to her studies, she absorbed knowledge with the words of Jehovah God throughout her life. As she learned, she would instill this knowledge to her children, family, and friends. By profession, Vida worked as a sales associate/cashier for Walmart. Her co-workers would say she was a worker of excellence, always seeking to perfect her job. In her free time, Vida enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, and teaching everyone about Jehovah. Her friends, Nikole Edwards, Nicole Monroe, and Sharon will miss the time they shared. She will best be remembered by her friends as having a big and loving heart towards everyone, a strong will, and her love and passion for Jehovah God. "If she could help you in any way, she would." To know Vida, was to love her! Vida was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia Whitaker. Vida Doreen Whitaker departed this life into the embrace of Jehovah on February 28, 2016, in Aurora, Colorado. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Michael Scott; her children, Kenyatta Whitaker, TC Brooks, Jamaur Whitaker, Angel (Nate) Whitaker, Jaylen Williams, Brooklyn Scott; her father, Robert Whitaker, Jr.; her brothers, Marcus Whitaker, Robert (Andrea) Whitaker, Stacy Whitaker, Jackie Whitaker; her sisters, Ella Whitaker, Alma Whitaker, Rita Whitaker; her grandchildren, Aujaee, Iyanna, Gabriel, Baby Nate, Khamya, Chamia, Donovan; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
