She was a member Central Baptist Church and she sang with the Sunshine Choir. Vicky was the lead vocalist for the song "This Little Light of Mine." She so enjoyed singing the song that when it was time to end the song; she would start singing it again from the top. The choir Director would find it hard to get her to end the song. She has been a member of Central for over forty nine years. She was a person who could meet people for the first time and hold conversations as if they have known each for a long time. Vicky received her formal education in Detroit, Michigan where she graduated from Detroit Central High School. She graduated as number three academically and was a member of the National Honor Society. She furthered her education by attending Wayne State University in Detroit for two years. Vicky was the proud mother of a son, she named DeQuan. She was a single mother whose pride and joy was the care and nurture of her son. She made the sacrifices which afforded her the opportunity to provide a better living for the both of them. A favorite childhood memory was that of Vicky surprising DeQuan by taking him to the sold out Bad Tour of Michael Jackson. She loved her son unconditionally and taught him to be proud of his personal achievements. DeQuan reflects, "She is the best mother God could have given a son." By profession, Vicky was an Administrator for Detroit Metropolitan Hospital, Children's Hospital in Denver and U.S. Bank. She was hard working, dependable, and performed her duties with precision and accuracy. She was admired by her employers and respected by her fellow coworkers for her willingness to go over and beyond what was expected of her. She was true team player and a very detailed oriented person. Vicky also enjoyed worshipping at Denver Church of Christ. She had been attending the church since 2000.
