Vernon Eugene Ward was born on September 14, 1954 in Amarillo, Texas. Vernon was the second of two children born in the family. Lucililius Ward and Willia Mae Simpkins were the proud parents of Vernon, and his sister, Cathy. Together, they were a strong family that enjoyed their time. Vernon attended West High School. Shortly after High School, Vernon enlisted in the United States Army with a burning desire to serve his country. After serving in the Army for a number of years, Vernon was honorably discharged. Vernon was the proud father of one beautiful daughter, Kaisheena. She was his princess. He showered her with so much love. Kaisheena remembers her father being a good man, a good friend, and an outstanding father. She talked to him all of the time; telling him about anything, he would never tell her "no". He was her superhero and she believed that he could do anything. Later, he was blessed with 5 grandchildren, Romellow, Kashmeire, Dequavious, Za-mariea, and Serenity. They were and additional source of joy. He loved spending time with them calling the girls, "My Little Princesses", and the boys, "My Little Soldiers." Vernon would pick the grandchildren up and take them to Boulder, Colorado for the weekend. They would go on wild adventures doing whatever he could for his grandbabies. They also believe their "PaPa", as they would so lovingly call him, could do anything. Vernon enjoyed spending time with his family and most of all his grandchildren. His best friend, Arthur will miss the time they shared. Vernon Ward was preceded in death by his parents, Lucililius Ward and Willia Mae Simpkins. Vernon Eugene Ward departed this life on June 8, 2015 in Boulder, Colorado. He leaves to cherish his memory, and to mourn his loss his daughter, Kaisheena Ward; his sister, Cathy Ward; 5 grandchildren, Romellow Ward, Kashmeire Ward, Dequavious Ward, Za-mariea Ward, and Serenity Ward; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and many friends.
