Vanessa Eason

July 14, 1956 — May 28, 2015

Vanessa Louise Eason, lovingly called "Delight" by family and friends, was born in San Antonio, Texas on July 14, 1956 to Betty Jean Eason. She spent her young life in Chicago, Illinois with her mother and brother, Walter "Champ" Woods. At age 15, Vanessa moved to Denver, Colorado, where she was raised by her Aunt Doris "Dottie" Hawkins, as one of her own, along with her cousins. She attended Lincoln High School in Denver, Colorado where she met Donald, her high school sweetheart. From this relationship, her beautiful baby boy, NheaShawn Eason, was born on September 14, 1973. She later met and married the late Michael Richardson. They were a loving, family oriented power couple. From this union, Vanessa was blessed with a beautiful baby girl, Chanele Richardson, January 10, 1982. While raising NheaShawn and Chanele, she enjoyed a career in the Medical field. She had a heart for caring for others. She worked diligently to earn a License in Practical Nursing. Over the years, her loving spirit attracted lots of great friends. Pinkie Fletcher, Kim Cooper, and Tina Hollins-Scott were Vanessa's best friends through it all and they remained loyal and faithful. Her friends will always remember her as having a heart of gold and always looking for ways to help and encourage others. Vanessa met and fell in love with her soulmate, LaSonya Pimpton in 2003. They dedicated their lives to one another. Together, they enjoyed lots of fun and love with her grandchildren, who absolutely loved hanging, playing, and talking with Vanessa, who they lovingly called, "Grandma". Vanessa and LaSonya loved spending precious time with the grandchildren attending jazz concerts, movies, shopping, and eating together. Vanessa would never miss a Winter Park Festival until the illness prevented her from going. LaSonya remained a loving and dedicated soulmate to Vanessa, her children and grandchildren though the great times and the many hospital visits in recent times. Although Vanessa lived with a debilitating illness for more than 10 years, she rarely complained and never gave up. She continued to be concerned about the health and happiness of her beloved family and friends. She showed the true measure of a woman as she continued to live and love in grace. Vanessa was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Richardson; her mother, Betty Eason; her aunt, Doris Hawkins; and her sister/cousin, Tina Hollins-Scott. On May 28, 2015 at 1:00 pm, surrounded and comforted by close family and friends, the Lord welcomed Vanessa home from her labor into eternity. Vanessa Louise Eason leaves to cherish her memory her spouse, LaSonya Pimpton of Aurora, CO; her son, NheaShawn Eason; her daughter, Chanele Richardson, both of Aurora, CO; 5 grandchildren, Marcus Gadison, Jr., Jayce Richardson, Damonte Eason, Nya Downing, and Nyeema Downing; a host of other family and friends. She is truly loved and will be truly missed!!!
