Valinda Lee

February 10, 1966 — March 27, 2016

Valinda V. Lee was born on February 10, 1966, in Denver, Colorado to her parents, Thomas Olivia Lee, and Era B. Gardner. She was the middle child, whom her family called "Trouble." Raised surrounded by her sisters, Carla, and Shanell, Valinda was a kindhearted child who dreamed of owning her own restaurant. Her desire was to take care of her family when she got older. Valinda was educated in the Denver Public Schools and completed her formal studies at East High. Valinda was the proud mother of daughter, Marie, and sons, Isaiah, and Turrell. They would be the loves of her live, whom she took care of even if she had to go without, and the children remember her making sure they were cared for. She was also blessed with four grandchildren, Javan, Christopher, Isaac, and Susuana, who were an additional source of joy. The grandchildren would lovingly call her, "Mom Mom." They remember Mom Mom taking them to the park, cooking them breakfast all the time, and making them smile. By profession, Valinda worked for Bernard's as a cook and waitress. She loved to cook and everyone around her loved when she cooked. Her co-workers would say Valinda was easy going, easy to get along with, and worked with a spirit of excellence. Valinda enjoyed hanging out with her friends and helping anyone in need. Her best friends were Pearl, May, Ed, Rose, and Jean. They will miss her fun, outgoing personality, and her open heart that was willing to assist anyone. She will be missed by all who have been blessed to know her. Valinda departed this life on March 27, 2016, in Denver, Colorado. She leaves to cherish her memories and to mourn her loss, her children, Marie Lee, Isaiah Lee, Turrell Lee; her mother, Era B. Gardner; her sisters, Carla Smith, Shanell Kelly; her grandchildren, Javan Lubanga, Christopher Sanaah, Isaac Sanaah, Susuana Lee-Sanaah; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, other relatives, and friends.
