Valerie Dean Dennis was born on October 20, 1960, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to her parents, Benjamin Cudjo, Sr. and Theresia O. Lee Cudjo. She was the fifth child born in the family. She was raised surrounded by her brothers, Clyde, Benjamin, Jr., Dale, Willard and her sisters, Gladys, Gretta and Latricha. As a child, she enjoyed being outdoors playing, feeding the family dogs, listening to music and dancing. She received her early education in Spencer, Oklahoma, graduating from the Star Spencer High School in 1978. In July of 1999, Valerie united in holy matrimony to Mark W. Dennis in Denver, Colorado. She was the proud mother of four beautiful children, Johnny, Ortell and twins, Roshall and Rashall. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother. Her greatest joy was the care and nurture of her family. They all remember her as loving, kind, understanding and honest. She was later blessed with thirteen grandchildren, who were an additional source of joy and pride in her life. They lovingly called her "Grandma Val" and fondly remember all the happy and precious moments they spent together. Valerie accepted the Lord as her personal savior at a very young age. She joined the St. Luke Baptist Church in Spencer, Oklahoma. She believed in the power of prayer and that everyone needed to have the right relationship with the Lord. Valerie was employed with several different jobs. She was last employed as a Clerk for Target Stores. She did so until her health began to fail. She was hard-working, dependable and offered "service with a smile." Valerie was a fun-loving woman who enjoyed life and those she surrounded. In her free time, she enjoyed watching her favorite "soap", "The Young and the Restless; she loved Wheel of Fortune, Bonanza and Cops. She also loved playing dominoes and Yahtzee, but nothing could quite compare to spending quality time with family and friends. She will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known this kind and wonderful woman who leaves a void that can never be filled. To know Valerie was to love her. She is preceded in death by her father, Benjamin Cudjo, Jr. and her mother, Theresia O. Alexander, passed on August 5, 2014, one day after Valerie; and a sister, Demetrice.
