It is written that when life begins it is like an open book with many pages. Each day that we live our lives, they are recorded on the pages until we close our eyes and the Lord calls us home to Heaven. The pages of this book began for Truvetta Marie Taylor (formerly Truvetta French and Truvetta Chess) on August 14, 1950, in Denver, Colorado to the union of Lemuel and Mattie French and continued under the loving union of John and Mattie Cook. She was reared and educated in Denver, Colorado and graduated from Manual High School in 1968. Shortly after, she married Robert Chess and they bore four beautiful children; Nichelle, Bobby, Charvelle and Torrey. Truvetta trusted the Lord with all her heart and she never wavered. Her most precious gift was the power of prayer, which is seen in every page of her life. When her loved ones called upon her for prayer during difficult times, her light shined brighter as she prayed and you could feel the presence of the Lord. As the years went by, she never forgot her love for family. She always had fond thoughts of all of her family members, especially Uncle Earl and Yolonda. Whether you were a friend or family, Truvetta would faithfully pray for them until the Lord answered her prayer. The last pages of this earthly life were recorded for Truvetta Marie Taylor on December 15, 2016 when she peacefully left this earth for her new home in heaven. Her two children Nichelle and Charvelle were there to welcome her home. Her two sons Bobby Chess and Torrey Chess (Heaven); three brothers Rickey Smith, Pastor Eric Cook, and John Cook Jr. (Sheri); four sisters Saundra French- Campbell, Evelyn Brueland, Debbie Mays (William) and Brenda Bonner (Bobby), 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and a host of other family members and friends will continue to cherish her memories for a lifetime.
