TJ Hobbs was born in Mexia, Texas June 18, 1932 to Tommy D. Hobbs and Minnie Ola Owens Hobbs. He was the second of eight children born to this union. He was raise surrounded by his brothers, Australia, Elmer, Elroy Rayfus, and Samuel, and his sister, Woodie Mae, Autry, Florence. He was lovingly nicknamed by his family and friends, "Uncle Bubba." TJ attended Dunbar High School in Lubbock, Texas. In the 1950's, TJ met and married Mollie Mae Allen, to this union, one son was born, Martin Hobbs. The marriage was eventually dissolved. Later, TJ would become the grandfather of two. By profession, TJ was a Custodian. He diligently worked with a spirit of excellence for the American Association of Retired Persons, AARP, for many years. After retirement, he enjoyed traveling, visiting the hills of Blackhawk, Colorado, and spending time with his family and friends. TJ's very good friend, Tommy Garcia will truly miss him. T.J. was loved by all that met him. TJ was preceded in death by his parents, Tommy D. Hobbs and Minnie Ola Hobbs; three brothers, Rayfus Hobbs, Australia Hobbs, Elmer V. Hobbs; and two sisters, Woodie Mae Hobbs High and Autry Hobbs Allen. TJ "Uncle Bubba" Hobbs leaves to cherish is memories his son Martin Hobbs, one sister, Florence Lee, Lubbock; two brothers, Elroy Hobbs (Linda) Arlington, TX; Samuel D. (Barbara) Hobbs, Northport, Alabama; two grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
