Thomas Bouknight Jr.

Thomas "David" Bouknight, Jr. was born on December 21, 1978, in Denver, Colorado. He was one of four children born to Evonnu Rasmus and Thomas D. Bouknight, Sr.

David, as he loved to be called, was raised in Houston, Texas. He received most of his primary and secondary education in the Houston School System, and culminating at Willow Ridge High School. While in school, he enjoyed playing football and basketball.

In 1999, David joined the United States Marine Corp. After his military service, David earned his Associate Degree in Science from Wayne Community College, in Goldsboro, NC.

David met the love of his life Dawnetia, in Denver, Colorado. They were married, and to this union came four children, Thomas David III, Jeremiah, Elijah, and Ariyah. He was a loving husband and devoted father. He was supportive of Dawnetia in her military career. Her assignment took the family all over the world. David worked at various jobs from restaurant operations manager and cook to pharmaceutical technician. Most recently, he was employed by BSNF Railway, as a Conductor. David was known as a no-nonsense, hard worker, who was respected by many.

As a lifetime learner, David was passionate about botany. He spent his spare time gardening and cooking the "fruits of his labor" He planted fruit trees including plum, apple, peach, and blue berry bushes. David was also skillful in outdoor grilling and cherished the time spent with family and friend whenever possible. He also loved working on his 1971 Monte Carlo in his spare time.

A man of God, David was a member of Kadosh Life Ministries, in Goldsboro, NC. He loved studying the word of God. David touched the lives of many people. He loved hard and he will be missed.

David departed this life on June 8, 2019. Left to cherish his memory are: his beloved wife, Dawnetia, his four children- Thomas David III, Jeremiah, Elijah, and Ariyah Bouknight of Goldsboro, NC; his parents- Thomas David Bouknight, Sr., Missouri City, TX., and Evonnu Rasmus, Houston; his brother -Samuel Bouknight; his sisters- Senitra Bouknight, Shavon Square, Sharoia Taylor, and Brittany Payton; maternal grandmother- Johnnie Rasmus; paternal grandmother- Donna Bouknight; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and loyal friends.

John 11:25: Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die."

John 14:27: "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you, not as the world gives, give I to you. Let not you heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid".

Revelation 21:4: "And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away".
Those we love do not go away
They walk beside us every day
Unseen, Unheard, but always near
Still loved, still missed, and very dear.
