Texanna Howard

Texanna Howard was born on November 28, 1939, in Wortham, Texas to her parents, Aaron David Chambers and Clairesse Waffer Chambers. She was the fifth child born in the family. She was raised surrounded by her brothers, Aaron, Jr., Woody and her sisters, Ada, Willie Mae, Era Bell and Jean. As a child, she always wanted to be in charge and liked giving orders. Her favorite saying was "shut up; stop crying and go do what you have to do." She was the type person who stood her own ground regardless the situation at hand. She is also remembered as always enjoying Pepsi. Texanna received her formal education in Texas where she attended Carver High School. In 1954, Texanna united in holy matrimony to Willie Ward Howard. They first met when they both were in school. They exchanged vows while on a trip to Mexico. To this union a daughter, Alice Fay was born. The marriage was full of love, devotion and unconditional caring. The family shared many happy and precious moments together. She was later blessed to have six grandchildren and four great grandchildren who were an additional source of joy and pride in her life. They too have many happy and memorable moment of time spent together. By profession, Texanna was a Certified Nurse Assistant. She was employed by Blue Cross and Blue Shield working with patient care in the home. She was admired and respected for her willingness to go over and beyond the call of duty to care for patients placed in her charge. A woman of faith and belief in the Lord, Texanna has been a faithful and dedicated member of Now Faith Christian Church for over 27 years. She served the church under the pastoral leadership of Pastor's Leon and Yvonne Emerson. She was the Church Mother and truly enjoyed the Christian fellowship shared with her church family. Texanna was a fun loving woman who enjoyed life and those she encircled. In her free time, she loved back yard dinners with family and friends. Her closest friends were her sisters and her church family. They all will miss her smile and her always making herself available when needed. She will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known this kind and wonderful, Christian woman. To know Texanna was to love her. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Alice Fay Howard; her parents, Aaron and Clairesse Chambers; two brothers, Arron Chambers, Jr. and Woody Chambers and two sisters, Ada Burns and Willie Mae Small. Texanna Howard departed this life to the embrace of the Lord on December 6, 2013, in Aurora, Colorado. Those left to cherish her memory and mourn her loss include her loving and devoted husband, Willie W. Howard; two sisters, Era Bell Anderson and Ivory Jean (Ellis) Linville all of Denver; two adopted daughters, Lisa (Dimitri) Rowlette of Atlanta, Georgia and Loretta (Tyrone) Evans of Phoenix, Arizona; 6 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and many friends.
