Tavarus Troy Sentil Thomas was born on August 11, 1981, in Thomasville, GA. To his parent Brenda Joyce Smith and Chester Wesley Thomas, who proceeded him in death. Troy was blessed with a dad in Reginald Dale Canada. Troy was the baby of the family surrounded with love and joy. In elementary school, Brenda moved her family to Denver, CO. where Troy attended Teller Elementary School, Gove Middle School, and East High School. A “no non-sense,” type of person, Troy proudly served his country in the military. Troy was the life of the party and had the biggest smile that would light up the room.
His energy was contagious, and he could make anyone feel warm and welcomed. He knew how to make anyone smile and keep them laughing no matter what they were going through. Troy had a beautiful, charming heart and a special gift in connecting with people. Family was extremely important to him, and he was loyal to his core to anyone he considered family. He loved to have meaningful conversations and sometimes even push the envelope. No matter what though, if you were in his presence, he made sure to have a conversation with you that would have you contemplating even after it ended.
Listening to many different types of music was a favorite pastime of Troy’s. His favorite type of music was gospel, and his absolute favorite song was The Color Purple’s version of “God is Trying to Tell You Something.” Troy enjoyed watching movies and taking pictures. He loved spending time with his family, especially his mother, Brenda and dad, Reginald. The bond he shared with them was strong.
