Tarence Logan Hardy was born on October 15, 1988 in Denver, Colorado to his parents Ronnie Hardy, and Brenda Johnson Hardy. He was the youngest of two children born to this union. He was raised with his sister, Sonia. Tarence received his formal education while attending Maxwell Elementary, Rachael B. Noel Middle, and Montbello High Schools in Denver, Colorado. On May 26, 2009, Tarence entered into Collbran Job Corps and earned his High School Diploma and Union Carpentry Certificate. Through it all, he learned how to trust and how important it is to give back. During his Job Corps experience, he earned several leadership opportunities to include Peer Counselor, Bay Leader, Maintenance Leader, and Top 5 in Pine Ridge Dormitory. In September 2011, Tarence earned his gold coat; the highest leadership honor in the corps. Tarence had a reputation of being a hard worker and a student who was happy to help. On October 27, 2011, he was inducted into the Collbran Job Corps "Hall of Fame." Since birth, Tarence grew up in the loving church family of Gethsemane Pentecostal Temple, under the divine leadership of Superintendent William A. Harris. He loved speaking his part of poetry, and re-enacting holiday plays. He especially loved participating in the Gethsemane Children's choir and overall church programs. He loved God and his church family. Tarence loved spending time with his father, sister, nephew, cousins, stepbrothers, stepsisters, and especially, DeLeon "Lil' D," whom he loved as his son. Tarence received a kidney transplant in March of 1993, and throughout countless hospital stays and surgeries; he remained positive, encouraged, and fun loving. Tarence became the Ambassador for Children's Hospital in October 1995, a role he truly adored. Tarence enjoyed watching sports, playing video games, and playing the drums; the drums was a self- taught hobby. He was very straight forward, out-spoken, and had a terrific sense of humor. His illuminating smile would light up any room he entered. Tarence will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known this kind and wonderful young man. Tarence is preceded in death by his grandmothers, Missionary Lucille Johnson, and Mattie Hardy; they were very special to him and he loved them dearly, especially their cooking. His uncles, Lee Johnson and Albert Johnson also preceded him in death. Tarence Logan Hardy departed this life into the embrace of the Lord on Thursday, May 8, 2014, in Denver, Colorado.
