Tanya Marquez

July 5, 1977 — May 18, 2013

Tanya Denise Marquez was born on July 5, 1977, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was the second child and only daughter of Joann M. Marquez. Tanya received her formal education in the Aurora Public School District at Central High School. She studied Psychology at the Community College of Aurora. Tanya was the proud mother of Dana, Enijha, and TaRay. She took much pride in being the best mother and keeping her children happy and in good health. They all remembered their mother as loving, kind hearted, caring and a mother who loved them unconditionally. She always put her kids first. Tanya was someone who was willing to take time out of her life on a daily basis in order to help others improve their own life. She was considerate of other people's feelings, a caring person, one of a kind, compassionate, respectful, trustworthy, and generous; yet, these characteristics do not fully describe the woman she really was. She was so amazing in so many different ways. Tanya loved the Lord and was a faithful member of Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church since 2008. Her goal was to please the Lord and to show the love of Christ. Two of her favorite scriptures include "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." Proverbs 3: 5-6, and Psalm 77:2 "In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord: my sore ran in the night, and ceased not: my soul refused to be comforted." Tanya enjoyed life, and spending time with her family and friends. Cherishing every moment she shared with them. Tanya had an infectious smile and laugh that would always be one of everyone's best memories of how beautiful she was. She had mesmerizing eyes and all the style in the world. Tanya will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known her. Tanya Denise Marquez departed this life to embrace the Lord on May 18, 2013, in Aurora, Colorado. Those left to cherish her memory and to morn her loss include her children, Dana Allison, Enijha Alexander, and TaRay Bailey; her mother, Joann Marquez; her brothers, James Marquez, Louie Marquez, Carlos Grion; her grandmother, Lillie Quintana; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, many other relatives, and friends.
