OBITUARY

Tanisha Janelle Perry

Tanisha Janelle Perry, was born on January 25, 1973 in St. Louis, Missouri to Angelique M. Woods and Ricardo E. Perry. The family moved to Denver when she was still a baby. Tanisha was raised by Angelique and her father in love, Marvin A. Green. As the oldest of four girls in the home, Tanisha was always bossy and verbally unapologetic. During her tween and teen years, she enjoyed being in charge and making money by serving as the family babysitter, often looking after her sisters, younger cousins, and family friends.

Tanisha received all of her formal education in Denver Public Schools attending East and George Washington High School, where she made lifelong friends, and ultimately graduated from Emily Griffith. After graduating high school, Tanisha joined the Navy Reserve and served as a non-combat Hospital Corpsman. In 1997, she was blessed by the birth of her first child, Erin Perry. Tanisha married Anthony Presley Sr. in 2006. To this union they welcomed Anthony Presley Jr. and Andre Presley. Tanisha also became Stepmother to Charles Baker, Latoya Baker, Anthony Baker, Christopher Baker, and Antoinette Baker.

Always endeavoring to expand her knowledge and feed her love of learning and problem solving, Tanisha continued her education at Denver Technical College, earning a certificate in Medical Billing & Coding. She later graduated from Bartending College and obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Business Management from DeVry University in 2012.  Tanisha wanted to use her degree to start a health-solution based cannabis business. While gathering her plans for her business endeavor, she cared for others as a CNA. Most recently, Tanisha joined the dispatch team at Waste Management five years ago. She greatly enjoyed working there and recently received a promotion that she was very proud of. She continued working there until her health no longer allowed her to.

Very social, Tanisha was always the bold and loud life of the party and often went clubbing with her best friend Andrea and cousin Atawaa. She truly loved spending time with family and friends and often did so. She enjoyed laughing and making others laugh, often reciting lines from her favorite movies and TV shows. She was a connoisseur of good food, the Young & the Restless and the Five Heartbeats. She often recalled with great sentiment her dad’s BBQ and her mom’s afro-engineering skills, as well as all the memories she had of growing up with her siblings and cousins, all the fun times they had as well as the trouble they would make. Her children and her dog LuLu were her world and greatest loves.

Tanisha transitioned from her earthly body on November 26, 2023, with loved ones by her side. She was preceded in death by her mother Angelique Woods, her father Marvin Green, and sister Mandisa Perry. Left to cherish her memory and mourn her loss are her husband Anthony Presley Sr., children, Anthony Presley Jr. and Andre Presley all of Westminster, CO, and Erin Perry of Aurora, CO, stepchildren Charles Baker, Latoya Baker, Anthony Baker, Christopher Baker, and Antoinette Baker, all of Philadelphia, PA. Her maternal grandmother Rosetta Greene, father Ricardo (Angela) Perry, of Commerce City, CO, her sisters: Ja’Net (James) Hurt, Mya Perry, Sharifa Perry, all of Denver, CO, and Adrienne Woods of Las Vegas, NV; sister in-laws, Regina Presley of Denver, CO, Tamiko Presley, Melinda Morrison, Angel Morrison, Beretta King, all of Philadelphia, PA, and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and sistas from another mother, friends and loved ones.
