Tammy Garcia

June 18, 1961 — February 6, 2022

Denver, CO

Tammy Lorraine Garcia was born on June 18th, 1961, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Denver, Colorado to her parents Antonio and Helen Garcia. Tammy grew up surrounded by her sister, Phyllis, her brothers, Anthony, Julian, Kenny, and Dino. As a child, Tammy was active and busy. She loved riding her bike, playing catch, baseball, and football with her brothers. You’d never guess that Tammy was very shy because of how active she was. Her siblings will remember her big, beautiful eyes and her LOVE for tomatoes.

Tammy matriculated through the Denver Public School system, graduating from John F. Kennedy High School. Being the athlete that she was, she received multiple certificates in volleyball and softball. Her servant’s heart was evident in all she did. She purposefully worked positions that would allow her direct access to be a blessing to those she met. She was a CNA at Alpine Living Center. She always did her job with excellence and brought great energy, a listening ear, great communication, and love to the residents she had the honor of serving.

Tammy was a faithful member of the Eternal Life Temple since 1983. It was there where she learned to love the Lord in all that she did. Tammy was blessed with four children. Billy, Bobby, Toby, and Star, who were the loves of her life. No matter how bad something was, she was always present to help lighten the situation. Later, Tammy’s grandchildren, Honey, Anthony, Julianna, JoRae, JoLena, Bobby, JoLissa, Jo’D, Mathis, Valentino, and Heavenly, were an additional source of pride and joy in her life. Affectionately called Grandma Tammy, she will be remembered for her caring spirit and warm heart. The grandchildren also remember the car rides and sing-alongs. Gloria Diaz, Tammy’s best friend will remember her singing “I Will Always Love You” by Whitney Houston in front of the Christmas tree when they worked the same shift at the Country Club. She had the voice of an angel. The memories are endless, and she will be greatly missed.

On February 6, 2022 Tammy Lorraine Garcia departed this life into the arms of her Heavenly Father to join her daughter Billy and brothers, Julian and Dino.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving parents, Helen and Tony Garcia; children, Bobby, Toby, and Star; grandchildren, Honey, Anthony (Bro Bro), Julianna, JoRae, JoLena, Bobby, JoLissa, Jo’D, Mathis, Valentino, and Heavenly; sister, Phyllis; brothers, Kenny and Anthony; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and numerous friends.
