Robert Leroy Gibson was born on November 4, 1942, in St Louis Mo, to Frank J. Gibson Sr., and Bernice Riley Gibson. He later changed his name to Takum Ra' Rahman. He was the third child born to this union. He was raised surrounded by his brothers, Frank Jr., Stephen, and his sisters, Delores and Patricia. As a child, Takum was inquisitive; he started working at an early age to earn his own money. Takum received his formal education in St. Louis, where he graduated from Beau Mont High School. He furthered his education by attending a trade school for carpentry. By profession, Takum was a business owner and entrepreneur. He worked as a Skilled Carpenter, was the owner of Rahman Installation Floor Services, LLC. Takum had a strong work ethic that was demonstrated throughout his entire life. A man of faith Takum was baptized into the Catholic Church at an early age, but later in life he became a member of the Fahamme Religion where he serve as a Priest for over 20yrs. On September 19, 1991, Takum united in holy matrimony to Hassoni C Birch. The couple first met when they both lived in Denver Colorado. Takum was a man whose pride and joy was his "WIFE" and they enjoyed many happy and precious moments together. Takum was a fun loving man who enjoyed life and those he encircled. In his free time, he enjoyed watching CNN, traveling with his wife, studying and teaching Divine understanding. His closest friends, Troy Franklin, Roosevelt Glover, Akhenaten Akins, Lloyd B Smith, and Menas Keys will miss the camaraderie they all shared together, and his true and trusted friendship down through the years. Takum will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known him. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank J. Gibson Sr., his brother, Frank Jr.; two daughters, Amenta and Aneth. Takum Rahman, departed this life on July 2, 2013 in Denver, Colorado. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Hassoni Birch Rahman, 7 Children, Menet (Christy) Rahman of Kansas City MO, Omar (Shirley) Gibson of Denver CO, Abu Rahman of Sioux City, IA, Capri Shead of Atlanta, GA, and Sorl Shead Jr. of Denver, CO; his mother Bernice Gibson of St Louis, MO; 21 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and many friends.
