Sylvia Blair

July 1, 1948 — November 6, 2014

The sun rose on the life of Sylvia Annette Blair in Denver Colorado on the joyous day of July 1, 1948. She was born to Richard Vivens and Thyra Mae Pratt Vivens. She was always surrounded by a loving family. She attended school at Whittier Elementary School, Cole Junior High School, Morey Junior High school and she graduated from Manual High School. The oldest surviving daughter of Richard Vivens Sr. She stayed very busy, working on the family farm engaged in chores from feeding animals to helping her mother in the home preparing meals and cleaning, she would even drive her father's dump truck for the family business. She met Thomas Edward Blair at a small soda shop on Lafayette Street and 22nd Avenue. They would hangout and socialize with friends and family and would later marry. To this union, Two wonderful children, Tony Lamont and Natalie Susan were born. Thomas preceded her in death. Sylvia had several employs throughout her life working at companies and organizations such as Samsonite, the Denver Federal Center and Saint Luke's Hospital but overall, her most efficient and longest held profession was that of a Homemaker. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, mother in law and friend to all of us. A caring and loving person to all she encountered. She was a child of God who loved the Lord, someone who routinely studied her Bible and attended church regularly. She would volunteer her spare time by visiting Saint Paul's Nursing Home to visit those she knew there and occasionally make new friends. She passionately served as a member of the Miracle Mountain AME/ZION Missionary Society. She was a founder of the Thyra Mae Vivens Missionary Society where she would serve as President. She truly enjoyed the fellowship shared with her church family. Sylvia was a fun loving woman who enjoyed life and those she encircled. In her free time, she enjoyed good food, shopping and watching her favorite television programs. To know Sylvia was to love her. She is also preceded in death by her father, her mother, older sister and younger brother. Sylvia Annette Blair departed this life to the embrace of the Lord on November 6, 2014, in Denver, Colorado.
