Susie Mae Robinson Middleton was born March 3, 1931, to the late John Sr. and Katie Mae Robinson in Decatur AL. She was the second of four children born Christine Cartwright (TN), John Robinson Jr. (IN), Joe Robinson (IN). Susie grew up and attended school in Decatur, Alabama. She graduated from Morgan County Training School in Hartsville, Alabama as Valedictorian in 1949. Susie married William Curklin Middleton Sr. in 1949. William enlisted in the Air Force and moved the family to Montgomery, AL. While in the military, they traveled to many different States and eventually made Denver, CO their home. As a hardworking mother, Susie had various jobs before she started her career at Western Electric. (Lucent Technologies). She retired with more than twenty years of service. Susie was blessed with seven children. Shirley, Deborah, Sharlette (Jerry), William T., Carla (Dale), William C. Jr. (Monica) and Jarvis. She is proceeded in death by two children, William T. and Deborah. Susie gave herself to the Lord at a very young age and made sure that her children, grandchildren and all those thereafter, also knew the Lord. She was blessed to live a long life and pass on a legacy to a fifth generation. Susie was very active in various clubs and activities. In addition to being a long time member of Queen of The South, Chapter #11, Order of The Eastern Star, Prince Hall Affiliated. She was also a member of the Broncos Supporters Club. Susie loved to play cards with her daughters and close friends to the wee hours of the morning. Susie had a variety of hobbies from shopping to fishing, to watching her favorite shows and sports. Susie loved to cook and entertain with friends and family. THAT SUSIE MAE WOULD COOK A SUNDAY MEAL ON ANY DAY OF THE WEEK IN THIRTY MINUTES AND SHE LOVED TO WEAR HER HATS. Her meals would consist of two meats and several vegetables and homemade cornbread. She passed on many of her recipes to the family, throughout the years many of us has mastered them, but she took home the family favorite: "Mac n Cheese"! Susie Mae can be described in many words, such as sweetheart, caring, peaceful, full of joy, loving and witty. She will be forever remembered from her quotes, face expressions and most of all her love for her family. Susie Mae Middleton departed from this life July 7, 2015 in Denver, CO. She leaves behind her legacy, 3 daughters, 2 sons, 17 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
