Steven Slack

Steven Edward Slack was born on June 18, 1982, at the Fort Ord United States Army post on the Monterey Bay, California, to his parents, Rinner Slack and Elizabeth Reviere Slack. He was the first of two children born to this union. Steven was raised with his brother, Kevin. His family and friends would nickname him, "Stephon," a name he would carry though the rest of his life. Steven attended school in Germany, and Colorado. After attending Rangeview in Aurora, Colorado, he decided to continue his education in the medical field attending DeVry University, followed by the Community College of Aurora where he studied to be an Emergency Medical Technician, EMT, and graduating from Everest College with a degree as a Medical Assistant. Steven met Jaimie Kripp at the AMF Aurora Bowling Lanes, and the two became inseparable. On November 4, 2012, they married at their friend, Jordan's house. They shared such a beautiful wedding with the help of some amazing friends. Steven was the proud father of three children, Laylah, Stephon, and Savana. He was such a dynamic father; he was always seen with his children in his arms and with a diaper bag in hand, spending quality time with them, and loving them. On Halloween 2015, Steven dressed as a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles along with his wife and children. His son thought he had the coolest dad ever. By profession, Steven was employed as a medical assistant who worked diligently for South Denver Gastroenterology, P.C. since May 2013. His co-workers would say he was a committed hardworking man with a great attitude, and always making people laugh. In his spare time, Steven was an avid bowler. He was very passionate and competitive on the lanes. He won the Amateur Bowler's Tour Tournament five times. When he bowled his first perfect 300 game, he was so excited and proud. Steven bowled with many different leagues, but enjoyed his teams, the Cincinnati Bengals, the Houston Texans, and The Boyz. His best friends, David Burch and Jason Poole will miss the camaraderie they shared together as true and trusted friends. Steven will be remembered for being so loving, and genuine. He would help anyone in need. Steven was preceded in death by his father, Rinner Slack. A Loving Man Gone Too Soon… Steven Edward Slack departed this life on January 22, 2016 in Aurora, Colorado. He leaves to cherish the memories his wife, Jaimie Slack; his cherished children, Laylah Slack, Stephon Slack, and Savana Slack; his mother, Elizabeth R. (James) McLurkin; his brother, Kevin Slack; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
