Stanley Taylor, Jr.

November 2, 1954 — April 10, 2016

Stanley Taylor, Jr. was born on November 2, 1954, in Denver, Colorado to his parents, Stanley Taylor, Sr. and Dorothy G. Johnson. He was the first and only child born to Stanley and Dorothy. He was blessed to have a great man, Donald Butler, as a father figure from his youth as he was raised surrounded by his brother, Craig Anthony, and sister, Angela. His family remembers him being very respectful. Stanley was nicknamed, "Stan" by his family and friends. He was a very artistic child who loved drawing, electronics, and running track. As a child, Stanley excelled in educational exploits, attending the Annual Spelling Bee's every year. Stanley completed his secondary education in Denver, Colorado at East High School, "Home of the Angel's," when he graduated in 1970. Stanley enlisted in the United States Navy immediately following high school; he was accepted and stationed at Korea in the Philippines. Stanley received many honors while in the military and was honorably discharged in 1972. Stanley loved the Lord and was a member of the Antioch Church of God in Christ, under the leadership of his uncle, Bishop Frank E. Johnson. Stanley met Angie in Denver, Colorado, and they would later marry at Antioch Church of God in Christ. To this union, three children were born, sons, Chaz, and Austin, and daughter, Georgia. Stanley loved his children; they were a joy to him. Later, he was blessed with one grandchild, Austin, Jr. who was an additional source of love and joy. "A Renaissance Man," who had many talents and areas of expertise, Stanley mastered the arts of barbering, and cosmetology. As a Master Barber and Licensed Hairstylist, Stanley shared his art with the world at the Park Hill Barbershop. His customers would wait in line to get into his chair because they knew the quality of cuts he would produce; they will miss his masterful touch. From all that Stanley enjoyed doing, he loved fishing and doing yard work, doing these things brought him peace and tranquility. Stanley will be missed for his quiet demeanor, his willingness to assist anyone, and his loving spirit. Stanley was preceded in death by his father, Donald Butler. Stanley Taylor, Jr. departed this life on April 10, 2016, in Denver, Colorado. He leaves to cherish his memory and to mourn his loss his three children, Chaz (LaToya) Taylor, Atlanta, GA, Austin (Nikki) Taylor, Kalamazoo, MI, Georgia (Reginald) Tardy, Raleigh, NC; his mother, Dorothy G.
