Shanta Antionette Reid was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was one of a kind and left everyone she met with a lasting impression. Her aunt would often say “you ain’t never ever ever met nobody like Shanta, Shanta Shanta”.
Shanta had a diverse outlook on life and would find enjoyment in all types of different foods, music, and cultures. She loved nothing more than simply having a good time laughing with her friends and family and taking pictures along the way.
In her lifetime, Shanta was known for being the life of the party and having a big heart to everyone she met. She worked in the restaurant industry for several years but her favorite careers was teaching head start in her early twenties and doing security in downtown Denver.
She is survived by her husband Alexander Reid, her three children Olijahwan Smith, Courtni Stokes and Atefah Reid, her two granddaughters Amelia Anderson-Smith, and Ivy Mitchell, and her older brothers Bill Smith and Lakendric Williams who will deeply miss her.
Shanta is preceded in death by her parents, Michael Williams and Sandra Smith, as well as her older brother Michael Johnson.
