Shannon Cooper

1976 — January 1, 2022

Denver, CO

Shannon Shane Cooper was the only child born to Patricia Cooper and Terry Gross on October 27th,1976 in Denver, Colorado. Even as a child, Shannon had a compassionate soul and was a “Momma’s Boy”. He was always respectful, sweet, and polite.

Shannon matriculated in both Denver and Beaumont Public School systems, graduating from Central High School in Beaumont, Texas. After graduation, Shannon attended Job Corp which allowed him to travel to various places. Shannon made Denver is permanent home in 2005. Although life threw him some curve balls, he always held his head high and persevered. He was employed as a cashier at King Soopers and Safeway where his co-workers remember his eagerness to greet customers with a smile.

Shannon joined Friendship Baptist Church in 2005 and remained a faithful member until his passing. Shannon had a wonderful smile and great heart. He never hesitated to lend a helping hand and literally would give you the shirt off his back. Shannon affectionately called “Scoobie”, loved to interact with people he never met and had a passion for guiding youth in the right direction. He loved and was willing to give them sound advice that would help them navigate through their hard times.  He always wanted to become a teacher and in so many ways, he was.

Shannon and his best friend Shavon Griffin enjoyed listening to music together, playing games, and riding bikes. Shannon and his mom, “Mommy Patty” were also extremely close. She will remember their closeness and cherish each day God allowed them to spend together. His love, kindness, and caring spirit will be truly missed.

Shannon Shane Cooper departed this earth on January 23rd, 2022. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his beloved parents, Patricia Cooper and Terry Gross; and a host of family members and friends.
Tribute to My Son
Sometimes the strongest women are the ones who love beyond all faults, cry behind closed doors and fight battles that nobody knows about, and keep holding on and taking things one day at a time.
I Love You Scoobie “Always”
