Samuel Thompson

September 18, 1961 — November 4, 2014

Samuel Pachcha Thompson was born on September 18, 1961, in Cleveland, Ohio to his parents, Willie Richard Thompson, Jr. and Bobbye Kay Gant Thompson. He was the second child born in the family. He was raised surrounded by his brothers, Rickie W., Lawrence, Aaron S., Quentin K. and Alexander. As a child, he loved dogs, roller skating and dancing. He began his formal education in Detroit, Michigan and finished in Denver, Colorado. He was part of the first graduating class of 1981, from Montbello High School. On June 10, 1982, Samuel wed the former Toni Renea Carter in Denver. To this union three beautiful children, Antwon, Auprivave, and Bilal were born. They fondly remember him letting them have different animals because he loved animals. He was later blessed with five grandchildren, Trinity, Destiny, Dia Bella, AaNyla and Daylynn, who were an additional source of joy and pride in his life. They lovingly called him "Grandpa Sam" and fondly remember him spoiling them and watching them dance, play and talk. They all had many happy and memorable moments spent together. By profession, Samuel was a Prep Cook for the Holiday Inn Hotel Chain. He was hard-working, dedicated and believed that presentation was just as important as preparation. A man of faith and belief in the Lord, Samuel was a member of Central Baptist Church. He joined the church over 3 years ago under the pastoral leadership of Reverend Henry L. Armington, Sr. He received a Baptismal Certificate and certificate for successfully completing the Bible Study classes in 2013. He enjoyed the worship service and the fellowship shared with his church family. In his free time, Samuel enjoyed fishing, watching movies, listening to music and spending quality time with family and friends. His closest friends, his wife, Toni Carter, Roderick Smith and his God daughter, Kymaia Gibson will miss his beautiful smile and jovial personality. He will be missed by all who have known this one of a kind guy who leaves a void that can never be filled. To know Samuel was to love him. Samuel was preceded in death by his father, Willie Richard Thompson, Jr.; his brother, Lawrence Thompson; his grandparents, Elige and Susie Gant, and Willie and Evelyn Thompson, Sr.; his uncle, James Thompson; and his stepfather, Alexander A. Armstrong, Jr. Samuel P. Thompson departed this life to the embrace of the Lord on November 4, 2014, in Denver, Colorado. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Toni R. Carter; two sons, Antwon (Veronica) Carter and Bilal Carter-Thompson; one daughter, Auprivave Carter-Thompson; his mother, Bobbye Thompson Armstrong; four brothers, Rickie W. (Sandra) Thompson, Quentin K. (Nicole) Thompson, Aaron Thompson, Alexander Armstrong, III; five grandchildren, Trinity, Destiny, Dia Bella, AaNyla and Daylynn; his uncles and aunts, Richard C.
