Samuel Royce Dwayne Busby was born on June 12, 1986 to Samuel Sr and Zena Busby. He was the 1st and only son born to this union. Brenda, Royce’s aunt helped raise him and taught him how to dress and “Stay Fresh”. Royce’s God mother Bertha Garcia also took on the role of helping to raise him. She taught his morals, constantly stayed in attendance to ensure that he was heading in the correct direction and was always there to support him when needed.
Growing up, others knew Royce by "Mizz Locc" and "Mizery" . He was educated in Denver Public Schools where he excelled in basketball beginning at West High School and later transferring to South High School. Following his High School days, Royce went on to further himself earning his license in Cosmetology. He would later meet the love of his life Selena Busby and to this union he was the step father to three sons.
To know Royce was to love him, he was a Hustler at Heart. He loved his family unconditionally, especially his sisters Kamesha, Shaterra and Sharmella who were near and dear to his heart. Royce enjoyed his mother “Momma Deucky’s” cookouts where he enjoyed playing Pinochle, Dominoes and hanging out with friends and family. For those who knew Royce, you know that he enjoyed yelling “Sucka Free”. He was loyal, steadfast with a caring heart and impacted so many lives, blood or not.
Royce turned his life to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with the help of his Momma Deucky. He joined New Direction Praise and Worship under the leadership of Apostle George L. Johnson and his uncle Pastor Donnie McConico.
Royce went on to be with the Lord on March 7, 2021 and will truly be missed. He is preceded in death by his loving wife Selena Busby, his grandparents Donald and Gale McConico and Samuel Sr and Calliemae Busby, brothers: Preston and Maurice, uncles Triland McConicop, Raymond Collins.
He leaves behind his parents Samuel Sr and Zena Busby; 3 sisters Kamesha (Tim) Busby, Shaterra (Davione Rogers) and Sharmella Busby, 4 beautiful Nieces 3 handsome nephews and 5 aunts. Marcieta Crawford of Kansas, Betty Taylor of Texas, Brenda Davis of Colorado, Christine Busby of Thornton, Colorado, Joyce Jefferson of Virginia, uncles Pastor Donnie (Nicholle) McConico, Shacon McConico, Ricky Davis all of Colorado and Calvin Busby of Arizona, a host of family, friends and other.
