Sallie Pryor

March 26, 1939 — November 8, 2018

Sallie Pearl Pryor was born on March 26, 1939, in Greenwood, Mississippi to her parents, Lafayette Pryor and Lavour Stigler Pryor. She was the second of thirteen children born in the family. She was raised surrounded by her brothers, Lafayette, Jr., Harvester, Gary, Larry, LeeRoy, Donald, Herbert, and her sisters, Queenesther, Doris, Albertha, Barbara, and Betty.

She received her formal education in Muncie, Indiana by graduating from Central High School.

On December 14, 1955, Sallie united in holy matrimony to Ivory Greathouse, Sr. They first met in Mucie, Indiana. She was the proud mother of three beautiful children, Luther "Pete", Ivory, Jr. and Belinda. She was a loving and devoted mother who took great pride in the care and nurture of her family. She was later blessed with eleven grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild, who all were an additional source of joy and pride in her life. They all shared many happy and memorable moments together. She later wed, Tessfaye Halliu. The first met in Denver, Colorado. He preceded her in death in 2016.

Sallie was no stranger to hard work. She was employed by Samsonite Luggage Distributors as a Fork Lift Operator. She was respected by her co-workers and the management team. She retired after many years of faithful and dedicated service. She was also employed with Metal West Incorporated as a Custodian for a number of years.

A woman of faith and belief in the Lord, Sallie was a member of Manors Temple Church of God In Christ in Muncie, Indiana for over ten years.

Sallie was a fun-loving woman, who enjoyed life and those she encircled. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing, gardening, traveling, and spending quality time with family and friends. She also enjoyed going to yard sales and thrift stores. Her closest friends, Paula Johnson, Fronia Mae Stigler, and Katherine Wright will miss the conversations they all shared together and fact that she treated them like sisters. She will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known this kind and wonderful woman. To know Sallie was to love her.
