The life of Roshad A. Smith began when he was born on July 18, 1987, in Denver, Colorado to his parents, Robin Smith and Betty Moore. He was raised surrounded his sisters, Kelly and Felisha. They shared many happy and precious moments together. As a child, he was a quick learner. The family remembers he taught himself to ride a bike by running along side of it and jumping on.
Roshad received his early education in Denver, Colorado, where he attended, Whittier Elementary School, Gilpin Elementary School, and Morey Middle School. He also attended Manuel High School, Montebello High School, and The Academy of Urban Learning, where he earned his high school diploma. While in school, he was member of the wrestling team. He also played football for the CU Buffs summer league and was able to take a picture alongside the Heisman Trophy.
A man of faith and belief in the Lord, Rashad would often stop by Zion Baptist Church and have prayer with Reverend Frank M. Davis.
In his free time, Roshad enjoyed listening to music. He aspired to become a Rapper. He and his best friend, LoLo performed before an audience. This was a dream come true for him that he talked about for many years. He was an avid Denver Bronco fan, and he enjoyed watching action, thriller, and comedy movies. Family was always important to him. He loved the happy and precious moments spent with his family and friends. He was a quiet and had a gentle soul. He had a smile and hug that would light up any room he entered. He will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known this kind and wonderful man. To know Rashad was to love him.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents and other family members.
Roshad A. Smith departed this life on August 14, 2021, in Denver, Colorado. Those left to cherish his memory and mourn his loss include a son, Malachi _______; his parents, Robin Smith and Betty Moore; 2 sisters, Kelly (Shane) Pope and Felisha Moore (Aquil Curry); 3 aunts; 3 uncles; 1 nephew; 2 nieces; and a host of other relatives and many friends.
My Only Son
My only son turned into a man so fast.
My only son was a protector of his mom, father, and sisters.
My only son lit up the room at any hour.
How can I say “fly baby”, we will meet again.
