Roosevelt Hayward, Jr.

Roosevelt Hayward Jr. was born August 28, 1934 to the parents Roosevelt Hayward and Millie Hayward in Alexander, Louisiana. He was the 4th child born in the family. He had 4 brothers; Leory, Willie, Ernest "brother" and John; 4 sisters; Gladys, Ida, Diana, and Jerry Penny. He had the nick name "Uncle Jr.", CB name "Roller Coaster" and most knew him as "Robert". Robert later moved to Denver, Colorado where he was a member at Macedonia Baptist Church and Greater Mount Olive Baptist Church under the direction of Reverend Paul Williams. Robert completed high school up to the 10th grade and then started to work to help support his family. He was a general laborer; which means, whatever he touched he could perfect it. Robert was a heavy equipment operator, his favorite was operating a crane and the back loader. He also was a taxi cab driver, and a part of a singing group, "The Golden Tones". Robert met his soul mate, the former, Elizabeth "Ann" Simon on October 13, 1983, in Denver, Colorado. They exchanged vows on March 23, 1996 at Greater Mount Olive Baptist Church, in Denver, Colorado. The love he had for his wife was unconditional and non-wavering. They shared many happy and precious moments together. Robert was an outstanding father to six children; Lewis Hayward (Wife Eva Hayward), Brenda Simon (husband Robert Simon), Penny Hayward (husband Robert Ross), Anquinica Norris "Nice" (husband Rickey Norris), Tricinda "Cindy" Jenkins, and Alfred "Al" Baldwin, two stepchildren; Debbie and Jill. Robert also enjoyed spending time with his 12 grandchildren and leaves behind 4 great grandchildren. Robert loved his wife and family unconditionally. In Roberts's free time, he enjoyed working on cars, electronics, reconstructing and building projects, watching westerns, NBA, NFL, boxing, baseball, college basketball and football. He loved to go fishing/ taking kids fishing, hunting, playing cards (tonk), playing dominoes and going to the dog tracks. He was member of the Elks and The Wrecking Crew. Robert loved to socialize with people he loved and cared about and spent hours sitting, talking, laughing and making people laugh (he was very dramatic and animated). Robert loved cooking and his favorite was barbecuing, everyone loved his barbecue so much, that they would request him to other states to enjoy his barbecue. To know Robert was to love him! Robert reunites in eternity with his parents Roosevelt and Millie Hayward, brothers- Leory, Willie and John. Sisters- Gladys, Ida and Diana, a father and a mother in law-Marvin and Valree Simon, Son in laws- Robert Simon and Robert Ross. Roosevelt Hayward Jr. went home to glory on Thursday, March 12, 2015 in Denver, Colorado. Those left to cherish his love and memories include his loving and devoted wife Elizabeth "Ann" Hayward, Denver; Daughters, Anquinica Norris (Rickey Norris), Denver, Tricinda "Cindy" Jenkins, Denver, Brenda Simon, CA, Penny Hayward, CA; sons, Lewis Hayward (Eva Hayward), Denver, Alfred "Al" Baldwin, Aurora; brother, Ernest Hayward, Louisiana; sister Jerry Penny Hayward, Louisiana; stepchildren, Debbie and Jill; grandchildren, Trevon, Anisha, Ashala, Amariyana, Arailious, Anitra, Elijah, Deon, Stacey, Jarrod, Fredrick and Myshelette; four great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and a host of beloved in laws that loved Robert and was loved by Robert, other relatives and many friends. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
