Rodric Boatner, affectionately called "Uncle" by his family, was born in Denver Colorado on November 12 th , 1974 to Earlie and Barbara Boatner. Rodric was the third of four siblings. He had two sisters, Leslie and Tameka, and one brother, Tremayne. Rodric is remembered as easy going, laid back, and fun to be around.
In 1993, Rodric graduated from South High School. In high school Rodric was known as a star basketball player. Shortly after graduating he completed his credits and received a certificate in auto body and painting from Emily Griffith Opportunity School. Before all those accomplishments, Rodric was blessed with a daughter Jasmine in 1991. In 1994, Rodric met the love of his life Venus Connor, who he married on July 8 th , 2000. Their wedding was officiated by Rodric's grandfather James Reed. Of this union two children were born, Rodric Jr and Jahquin Boatner.
Rodric and Venus created a beautiful home that was always full of life and love. They considered their home to be their sanctuary. They had an extensive garden they tended to together, where they loved to watch the bees, hummingbirds, and dragonflies flourish. Rodric and Venus grew many different types of medicinal plants, with those plants, Rodric created tinctures and salves to help when his family members were sick or in pain.
Rodric and Venus loved taking road trips with their family, some of their favorite places to go were Wounded Knee, South Dakota, Arches National Park in Utah, Great Sand Dunes National Park in Colorado, and driving through Big Thompson Canyon to Estes Park, Colorado. They had a fierce and loyal love for one another, he was her provider, confidant, and protector. Rodric and Venus shared a full life together and were married for 20 years, but together for 26 years.
Rodric worked for himself, he was a successful Akita breeder. He loved raising puppies and was very good at it, with some of puppies going on to become search and rescue dogs and diabetic alert dogs. His passions also included growing marijuana and restoring classic cars, in particular he loved the 1964 Chevy Impala. Rodric was also a musician, he loved to produced beats and was a talented lyricist.
Rodric often offered to provide child care services so family members wouldn't have the burden of paying for daycare expenses. You could always count on Rodric to lend a helping hand, when needed.
Rodric was fun to be around because he didn't apologize for being himself. He had the ability to make people comfortable by cracking jokes and having an overall beautiful spirit. Rodric's love, care, laugh, and charisma will greatly be missed by all that were blessed to know him.
Being that Rodric was his mother's only son, he was very protective of her and loved her unconditionally, their bond was unbreakable.
Rodric was a devoted husband and father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and father figure to many. Rodric played an integral part in helping to raise his sister's children, as well as Venus's sister's children. He adored his nieces and nephews.
Rodric was preceded in death by his father Earlie Boatner and his two grandfathers Carl Biggers and Earlie Boatner Sr.
Rodric Boatner was called home on the morning of Tuesday, July 7 th , 2020. Left to treasure his memories are his wife Venus Boatner, his children Jasmine, Rodric Jr., and Jahquin Boatner; one granddaughter Le'Anna Boatner, all from Denver Colorado. His mother Barbara Boatner, two sisters Leslie Boatner, Tameka Harris (Mo), a brother Tremayne Anchrum Sr (Maribel). Three grandmothers Helen Biggers, Cecilia Antoine Olivier, Peggy Reed, and his grandfather James Reed, as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, and cousins and friends. Rodric was very well loved by his in-laws Dean (Gramps) and Lois Graham.
