Rodessa Simmons was respectfully born in Bradley, Arkansas, on the second day of August in nineteen thirty-six to Mr. Booker T. Parker and Mrs. Martha Parker. Rodessa was a joyful child, often sharing delightful stories of her childhood, including running through cornfields and engaging in playful activities with her eleven siblings.
Rodessa received her early education in Bradley, Arkansas, where she developed a passion for learning. Her greatest aspiration, however, was to establish a loving family. Shortly after completing her formal education, she married Steve Simmons Junior (now deceased) and together they became parents to nine children: Roseanne Hill, Wille Simmons, Susie A, Jimmy Simmons, Leon Simmons, Shirley Simmons, Eddie Ray Simmons, Tony Simmons (now deceased), and Kizzy Simmons.
She leaves behind a large and loving family, including numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Known for her generous spirit, Rodessa opened her home and heart to countless neighbors and friends who she considered as dear as family.
Rodessa was not only cherished for her culinary skills but also for her mathematical prowess. She excelled in numerical calculations and could always be found engaging in card games or managing the finances for various events. Her fast wit and kind heart endeared her to all who knew her.
In her leisure time, Rodessa enjoyed fishing, listening to blues music, hosting card games at home, and taking trips to Blackhawk casinos. However, her greatest joy came from spending time with her beloved family whom she cared for deeply.
Ms. Rodessa's legacy of warmth and hospitality will be remembered fondly by all whose lives she touched. May she rest in peace.
